I found a great bag for selection and the price is quite reasonable. Can't remember the brand though.
The price is about RM150-199, I think its quite reasonable.

You can browse the garage section for laptop bags, I'm getting mine by early next month, low on cash for now..

But the one I found suited my taste quite well, the look was very minimalistic and quite techie, the compartments provided was more than sufficient, the bulkiness was well shaped to minimize the look of the actual size, and for something like that to cost less than RM200 is a value by in my opinion.

Honestly, I haven't been using it constantly. It was meant for bringing around. But I can't do that without a bag, I don't have anything which fits it. So for now I'm still on my desktop. Been really caught up with things within these past few days. *pfft*
But I'm perfectly comfortable with it actually, satisfied with the purchase, the performance so far is satisfying. Like I said before, I'll say it again. Its worth every penny! I hope it does for those who've gotten theirs too! |

Have to agree on kevafk. For sufficient space for your 17" its wisest to look for an inch or so extra to avoid not being able to fit your Vostro or any other 17" laptop.
I wrote about the Everski laptop bag on the first page, check it out. Do share us your choices of laptop bags which can fit so we'll have more options to choose from. |

Its user preference, can't say which is the best. Each brand provides their line of quality laptops for a certain price, each model suites the needs of different individual needs. So far I'm very happy with my laptop. For 3k I got decent specs, so for me the outcome of Dell Vostro 3700 was really great for my limited budget, or not I would have gotten an Acer Aspire 5974 i7.

Yeah, the Deuter brand is kinda out of my budget so I'm going for the Everki Beacon. Hopefully I'll be buying it by Monday evening. Noticed the Everki thread in the garage sales a few days ago, I dealt with fashion Origin yesterday. I posted the event on the first page @miahahaha How to I contact a mod btw? been wondering ever since. |

I think for those who like black, the bronze I saw on a Dell Vostro review in youtube looked superb!
Am I the only one who got a color change for free? I just upgraded my OS to Ultimate, loving it! |

QUOTE(tplus1 @ Mar 29 2010, 12:51 AM) wow.... congrats... how long u waited for red colour? i wan order tmr..... red is superb!! i like it... but i must get my laptop b4 9 April for some reason.. if order red... will be deliver b4 9 april?? It took me about two weeks for the whole process. Which was way sooner than expected. I'm not really sure about the shipping, things like that can be quite unpredictable, so the best thing to do; as I always recommend, is keep yourself updated with Dell or your Dell SA who dealt with you. and OS... the pre-installed is 32 bit right? can set it to 64bit? thx And about the 64bit I think you should consult Dell Sales about that. |

QUOTE(tplus1 @ Mar 29 2010, 01:24 AM) wokay.... u got any free gift from dell? u buy it for?? RM2849 with RM150 rebate??? coz they say early buyer got another RM150 discount... =.= Well the only free thing I got was the Color change I guess, because during the time I made my order, the color option wasn't available. I did the one thing that all customers have the right to do, I requested/inquired for something and I got the color change. The SA agreed and I wasn't charged a single cent for it. My Dell Vostro i5 340M was upgraded with additional RAM to 4GB and changed the hard drive to 500GB which amounted to RM3077. aiyo... if got nice discount/free gift from ur SA, PM me her/his name.. coz... i really lazy go buy another 17/18" beg... lolz |

Wow, that'll burn a hole in your wallet. Well if you're willing also go for the i7 processor then. Consult a sales assistant through the Dell hotline.

Yeah, the bag is quite big actually, so it wouldn't suite well with people who have small frames. The padding is alright, not exactly the best but it suites its purpose.

It fits perfectly well and is also provided with plenty of space, the compartments are actually spacious, I didn't take a picture of the insides which can open fully for a better view, I'll do so when I'm free. The price tag for the laptop bag is RM199, which is quite a good deal. If you're interested I put the dealers 'Garage Sale' link on the front page. @sabrateur Yup, but 64bit is only available with Windows 7 Professional at the cost of RM207. I wonder if you can ask for a different choices of Windows 7 edition 64/32 from the Dell hotline, has anyone benefited from the generous help of a Dell SA? The current price with promotion is still the same, except added with new 'Color Kits' option which wasn't available when I purchased mine. ^^ I'm wondering if anyone managed to get theirs built in with a back-lit keyboard feature? |

Seems to me like Dell is facing issues with probably high demand of the new lineup of Dell Vostro. For those who are still waiting and have decided to wait it out, do be patient and as I always say, kindly receive and request updates with your Dell Sales Assistant which you dealt with previously. For those who are unsure of who they were, feel free to ask assistance from the hot-line provided by Dell. Patience and consistency might help out.

I think the quality is good, if you expect it to be extra durable and rough, it wouldn't be a laptop. The important thing is to take good care of your laptop to optimize and preserve it for longer usage. Which Zaita is setting a fine example. I really do think the little things like that make a big difference. The only issue for me now is investment needed for it. Am planning to protect and preserve my laptop with any possible means. So far all I've got is my decent bag, which will have to do for now.
+1 to Zaita! I'd love to see you post pictures of it so I can get a fine example. |
