The zenus case not very good, it is sticky and singapore users who got it reported dust trapped easily and the material is quite grippy, good if you got dodgy hands, bad if you slipping it into your pants.

Get the SGP one better, based on the product description, it says non sticky coated silicon.

Not to mention the SGP screen protector looks better, comes with back camera lens protector as well.

*edited: I meant non sticky, I accidentally typed in 'slippery'.

shall we cancel the zenus bulk and bulk SGP case instead ?

Well, you can order direct from gmarket, but you need to be careful with the options as they are in korean, but basically, you can just choose everything none and it will default be just the case.

You can select different colours but searching around gmarket. -> Unfortunately I searched and can't find with free domestic delivery. Only the black one has it.

I'm actually more interested in the screen protector, truth be told, and would like to get an extra pair to go with it.

This means if you're gonna bulk it, I'm in for 1 black, and 1 additional set of SGP screen protector.

Under SGP drop down box (SGP정품필름), the 18,000 won option. Which is the antifingerprint version.

The glossy one is the 15,000 won option.

Yeah, I've been waiting for a while already.

On a side note, at Pikom I played with a galaxy S on display. It has a default rom that seems quite lean.

No cruddy add on apps by any mobile carriers. Just default firmware.
I was tempted to get mine flashed, but decided against it and just wait for froyo, besides the firmware I have currently isn't giving me any problems.

In addition, I've downloaded a few utility apps that are pretty nifty.

The latest was:

Andromax

Using this app, you can add 2 different widgets on your home screens.

1) Clock + date + battery life + signal bar + carrier info
2) a line of switches that includes
a) bluetooth
b) wifi
c) GPRS/3G toggle
d) GPS
e) flight mode
f) silent mode
g) vibrate on/off

I used these 2 widgets to replace the default android powerbar + some other widgets that took up more space.

As a review, using it for about half a day, I notice the battery info is accurate ( I compared this to a battery meter i had installed since day 1 and it mirrored the values exactly ), and all the switches work.

For people who have turned off their GPRS/3G data using this. If you experience no data transfer after having it turned off for a long time, perform the following:

Toggle flight mode on, then turn it off.
Then toggle the data on, and it will work.

This is a bug in android 2.1 and it can be solved this way. I downloaded this app because all the buttons were integrated into 1 bar instead of me having to fumble around different buttons to switch around.

No, I have my own unit since about 3 weeks already.
I explored the display unit to compare firmware against mine.

nearly double for the zenus brand  blink.gif

Ya, but if you order multiple, shipping doesn't really escalate. It's only for 1 item that shipping is insane.
You can order up to 5 units and maintain shipping at the current rate of 10,400 won.
I think up to 10 unit for it to be 12,400 won.

I calculated, if we order 10 pieces, inclusive of shipping = 197500 won total.

Meaning it's RM530 or thereabouts, need custom tax 10%. Make it 600, so RM60 per unit.

I will take the 10,700W one, If i am not wrong, each case already comes with 1 piece (Not pack) of screen protector , which one I am not wrong.

Do note that the earlier link I gave do not have international shipping but is to be used as a reference. I'm still searching for a suitable seller on gmarket, language is the problem. And for some reasons, koreans love to use pictures, so google translation isn't much help.

Okay, this one ships internationally.

There is only BLACK in stock, all other colours arriving at their shop on 21st July. *First drop down box
All cases ordered will come with 1 piece of clear SP, what quality I have no idea. But they will give 1 piece free.
Most likely it is the ultra crystal film.

For 2nd drop down box, these are the options

Option 1: 10,700W - Ultra oleophobic SP (Each packet contains: 2 pieces of SP, 3 pieces of camera lens protector, microfibre cloth and squeegee)
Option 2: 23,500W - stick on film for whole body
Option 3: 23,900W - stick on film for whole body
Option 4: 23,100W - stick on film for whole body
Option 5: 12,100W - Anti-fingerprint 2.0 SP (Each packet contains: 2 pieces of SP, microfibre cloth and squeegee)
Option 6: 11,600W - Ultra crystal film SP (Each packet contains: 2 pieces of SP, 3 pieces of camera lens protector, microfibre cloth and squeegee)

This is using the best of my reading from giant pictures and matching price to picture and description. Please don't fault me if anything wrong.

Another app that I have been using for a while:

Agenda widget

I used this to replace the daily briefing as I didn't want to keep being connected to the internet.
You can link this to your calendar and it keeps your schedule in check.
There are many sizes for the widget so you can customise it to fit your screen.
I personally like this a lot.
I give it a 8/10.

What I wish it had: Customisable font instead of following system font. (Maybe it has and maybe I have no idea how to set it, although I have gone through all the options)

this means if i want option 1 i will get a black silicon case + ultra oleophobic SP??
*
You will get 1 black case + 1 piece clear SP + 1 packet of ultra oleophobic SP
The 1 piece clear SP comes with the case, based on my understanding from rough translation. (Please read the link and be very sure yourself, I am only half sure on this)

But I am very sure that the option 1 comes with 2 pieces of SP + 3 camera lens cover + 1 squeegee + 1 microfibre cloth

28,000W (roughly RM80) not inclusive of combined shipping to be paid to turion64 which will be calculated based on his bulk.

Based on more reading, from the SGP's english US based website:

http://www.sgpstore.com/product_info.php/c...roducts_id/1497

The oleophobic film will get fingerprints but is easy to wipe off, and I think it's a balance between anti-fingerprint (which does not come with back camera lens protector) which will reduce image quality somewhat, vs ultra glossy, which is a fingerprint magnet.

I have not tried the product, but if it's scratch resistant, easy to wipe off oil, I think it's okay.
I've used martin field before, that one the oil really sticks especially after using the phone. Expensive too, RM50+ for 1 piece.

hi guys...Im new in android phones...might getting myself this Galaxy...jus wanna know is it Galaxy's web browser cant support Flash?? wut GPS works the best on this phone?? ^^
*
Btw, samsung galaxy != galaxy S, there is actually an android 1.5 phone called galaxy.

Honestly speaking, if you're looking to use this phone as a GPS driving aid, maybe you'd be missing the point of it all.
It's good to plan routes, look for places or find stuff, but to use it as driving, you've got to consider draining the battery, receiving calls etc and what not that comes with using an integrated device.

Picking up a dedicated GPS like a garmin 1250 for RM500+ is a cheap way to make full use of these 2 devices.

After using this phone for a while, IMHO this is what I feel.

Note: I am in no way related to garmin or any other GPS device makers.

Built in google maps on galaxy S does have direction, just not voice navigation, but it can work no issues.

For samsung, my experience is just bring along the original receipt and warranty card to service centre. No need to register at all since they will want to see the details anyway if a need arises.

hmm, any sifu can help, after i surf the net using 3g, i usually off it from the access point name where i change the APN type 2 mms.

But then when i want to on back 3g to surf net, i change the APN type to internet also i cannot surf, only when i restart the phone am i able to surf again...... any sifu can help me with this?
*
I had a post about this earlier. It is probably a bug on the android system.

You don't have to change APN type, what you want to do is the following.

1) Go to market and download APN onoff , it is just 1 single widget
2) for APN access point put for both internet and MMS
3) Put the APN widget on your home screen
4) Turn it off when you only need to use MMS
5) If you face no data transfer, turn on APN on/off to on, put your phone into flight mode, then reactivate it again

Wrong, IMEI is device ID number. Not mobile telephone number.
