True. However they have improved the technology and we don't need to wear red/blue glasses anymore at the cinemas. That really reduce the dizziness side effects.

Anyways, I still have't watched 3D TV in real life. =p

Any1 from my generation remember watching JAWs in 3D at the cinema? Hehe. I still remember the shark victim's hand floating out of the screen towards us.

If have to wear glasses, why not just go for polarized? It works on all existing sources and TVs and doesn't make the TV look blur when watching without the glasses.

In theory Astro could take the 3D feed of the World cup and convert it to polarized. Instant 3D.

Anaglyph, however... avoid.

I love watching movie in 3D. No headache at all. But the problem is no subtitle in 3D movie such in cinema. Dunno why. Quiet frustrating.

In theater, currently they used 3D red/blue glasses but 3D TV used transparent glasses (shutter glasses). Red/bue glass can make dizziness effect but not with transparent glasses. U can feel a different.

Only in looks. It's really more complicated than linear polarity. The Dolby 3D that's in Malaysia right now (because theater owners are scared to invest in 3D/digital projection because otherwise they have to invest in 2.40 high gain silver screen) is based on interference filter technology. Using a filter within the DLP projector, it separates each of the RGB light into six different wavelengths. Because of this, some people who are more color sensitive will get headaches.

Imax 70mm 3D uses linear polarity method using two projectors; Imax Digital 3D uses a single 2K DLP projector. RealD uses a single 2K/4K SXRD/DLP projector using circular polarity method.

See above about linear and circular polarity. The thing about 3D HDTV standards is that it doesn't dictate that CE companies to employ circular or shutter glass technology to make it work. It's format agnostic, which means that so long as you can get your 3D tech to work on your TV and BD player, then it's your thing. So in the future, we may encounter complications with active shutter glasses that only works on a certain range of 3D HDTVs.

Not quite. Astro can't convert it to polarized. What Astro is in control of is the MPEG-4 MVC (MultiView Codec) as that is the broadcast/BD standard for 3D. The rest is up to how your 3D HDTV/projector handles the MPEG-4 MVC stream.

Agreed.

The reason for no subs is because movies are not made with subs. If you ever watch an English movie in the UK/US, you'd notice this. To put subs in a 3D digital movie is not complicated since the subs would have already been prepared for the 35mm version. However, the local distributor would have to specifically ask their Hollywood studios to embed the subs with the movie so that the subs, like electronic subs on BD and DVD, can be turned on or off.

No subs is a good thing because it forces you to listen carefully and to learn English really fast.

Uh, digital 3D doesn't use red/blue glasses. Again, what you've experienced in Malaysia is the Dolby 3D system. The infitec glasses appear to be red/blue but they are just coatings. True red/blue glasses are anaglyph 3D and doesn't belong in 3D digital cinema.

The majority of screens in the US and around the world uses RealD 3D, which uses circular polarity technology. The main advantage is that the glasses are cheap and recyclable. Some theaters even charge you less if you reuse the RealD glasses (the higher ticket price takes into account the cost of the glasses).

See above about 3D technologies and HDTVs.

You may also need to upgrade your receiver to HDMI 1.4 so that it can correctly pass through your 3D video signal from your 3D BD player; Panasonic solved this problem with their 3D BD player by making it have one HDMI 1.4 for 3D video and one HDMI 1.3 for audio.

Nope. Panasonic is using plasma to deliver 3D HDTVs.
