hey guys,
apparently the Samsung 3D LED TV can turn any source into 3D? earlier I went, they were showing Assassin's Creed II demo in 3D, then the salesperson said you can even watch Astro in 3D... is this true? I've always thought that the source has to be 3D to begin with... |

QUOTE(sKyWiR3pT3lTd @ Mar 29 2010, 02:33 AM) Hmmm. I'd rather the Panasonic. I'd import it from the US.QUOTE(poyol @ Mar 29 2010, 02:24 PM) apparently the Samsung 3D LED TV can turn any source into 3D? As far as I know, the only CE that is touting that their 3D HDTV can do an online conversion (simultaneous) is Toshiba because it comes equipped with the Cell chip. Yes, the same chip that is at the heart of the PS3.earlier I went, they were showing Assassin's Creed II demo in 3D, then the salesperson said you can even watch Astro in 3D... QUOTE You can do 3D conversion but how good they are is a matter of discussion. Personally unless supervised by the director, I wouldn't want a 3D conversion unless it's flawless 95% of the time.fuad |

I did! i asked him, how does the TV convert normal video souce into 3D, and he just clicked the "3D On / 3D Off" button on the remote When you had seen the demo, you should have a chat with the salesman and dig info from him. Then I said, as far as I know, true 3D movies are made/directed in such a way that certain scenes would "jump out" of the screen. Normal broadcast (Astro) and non 3D movies weren't made that way. He said "no no, can wan..with 3D tv now you can" They demo-ed Monsters vs Aliens and Assassin's Creed II trailer. Monsters vs Aliens was impressive.. you guys remember the beginning..the dude playing with the ping pong bat and the ball was like leaping out of the screen? It looked really good on the TV Assassin's Creed II trailer... it was..umm..weird..could somehow sense a little bit more depth, but not "3D"..get what I mean? Probably because it was not meant to be 3D |

logically it is quite impossible for a non-3d to be 3d. the depth of the non-3d is not stored anywhere in the source so how to convert any non-3d to 3d in real time? got that so canggih tech meh? any system can do only if there is input for it.... AI? so clever!

QUOTE(writesimply @ Mar 26 2010, 10:08 PM) See above about 3D technologies and HDTVs. You may also need to upgrade your receiver to HDMI 1.4 so that it can correctly pass through your 3D video signal from your 3D BD player; Panasonic solved this problem with their 3D BD player by making it have one HDMI 1.4 for 3D video and one HDMI 1.3 for audio. as for the price...the 52" LX900 is expected to be around RM15 to 17.5k |

I heard the newer 3D LCD TV coming out will no longer need viewers to wear specs is it true?
Anyone know or tried b4 both (with specs n without specs) and can comment on picture quality of both? |
