Yeah, another sucking procedure of buying a laptop, for an average joe like me who have a limited amount of money.. =\ =P

well, my pov is never rush to buy a laptop... u'll regret easily later...

yeah..do read user review on the net is the best way to avoid u from regret..

and better ask for opinions and suggestions before buying any, some might got info about latest release or maybe a new model in coming month ..

Asus A42Dr (rm2299)..wat u guys think bout this model ? i c that AMD P320 has a TDP of 25W..which is lower than common i3 n i5 model.. does that mean it has longer battery life ? or because the processor is slower, so the processor will load more n causes more power consumption..

the P320 is indeed inferior than the intel i series..

my wait was even longer..

well, AMD Athlon II is gonna be slower than Intel's Core i/Pentium at the same clock, that's a fact...

however, wat AMD can't compete in performance, they compensate that with price...

for rm2299, imho it's a good deal... u ve a not too shabby CPU, a dedicated GPU that allow u to play some games and most impt of all, 2yrs of warranty from Asus...

close competitors would be:
Compaq CQ42-188TX, i3 330M + ATi HD5430@RM2049
Asus A42Jr, i3 350M + ATi HD5470@RM2599

Well, one good thing about PC Fair is you can bargain as much as free gifts that you want, but the concern here is usually PC Fair they sell off the stocks that haven't been sold off yet so most probably you'll be getting the older batch one ..but then again, not all like this so just be cautious while buying ...

i tot sometimes acer release some model for the pc fair?..but not all pc fair lah...usually on the april ones..

Yup, sometimes Acer does release a new model for PC Fair...well, maybe its just perfectly timed with PC Fair

but imho, the most important thing is ask properly for warranty, and what's the t&c for aftersales service...

big pc fair like pikom one should be ok, unlike those abc xyz pc fair in small scale...

I think I will wait too. Not many choices at the moment. My 4 years old inspiron can just have a battery change and reformatting while I'm making some researching and making decision. Thanks guys.
