This originally the Window (language pack) that you use when you bought the laptop or before this its in English??...If its already in Chinese language, most probably your laptop (sorry to say), like astria said, already been touched (messed around with)...

btw, the button for changing the keyboard can change to other language or is it only Chinese ..

Your laptop bought as a new unit (from a sealed box with the seal still intact) or a display unit??

i can confirm is a new unit (as i know he get this unit from lenovo company and never open) becoz the box is steal. and the windows i do registration when first boot. is it mean lenovo install the chinese win7 for this model?

Seems like it, the box is SEALED and also he brought you a new box set ...and you also did the user configuration when first boot-up..which will only lead to one conclusion, your Window 7 is Chinese version one

I went to a shop in Bera (Pahang) looking for the Acer 4551 laptop, eventhough there's flyers selling the laptop for RM 1490 but there's no more stock left.

The Toshiba C640 just dont have enough USB ports nowadays where everything depend on USB.

Any other worthy suggestions from all the gurus here ? Thanks. I'm just want a 14" laptop to do surfing , word processing and occasional movies.

i tink the acer aspire 4551 is best suits ur purpose..maybe just wait it out for new stock?

if in a hurry,maybe u mite wanna consider compaq CQ 42..the one with T4500 processor...it cost around Rm1599.00 (2gb ram, 500gb hdd)...work out to be the same as the 4551 cos 1gb ram cost Rm80, extra 180gb hdd shud b more or less make up for it..

anyway, the toshiba looks kinda cool too..solid!!!!..but the usb is a let down..unless u dun mind to bring the usb port everywhere u bring ur lappie..

hmm I did saw the compaq cd42 but did not enquire further because not really fond of compaq without any obvious reason Maybe I have to check it again. Also I will go to Temerloh tomorrow to survey further. I only know 1 shop in Bera selling laptop.

The Toshiba is nice but with only 2 usb ports, is a big let down. But I did saw the Toshiba netbook, look nice with keyboard bigger than the Acer One. But that totally different category. (My wife is thinking of getting a netbook)

I saw an Asus with AMD Sempron M120 selling for 1599. Sempron is old tech right?

nah.. Sempron = single core...

anyway, i won't recommend AMD M series as they are still based on 65nm technology and pretty hot...

u can consider those with Intel Pentium P6000 with GMA HD instead if u re in a real hurry to get a laptop...

Lee, CQ42-203A not listed in the first page, so this is a new stock right? Would compaq have the hot temperature issue? like the previous model?

I am in a bit of hurry actually, maybe in 2 weeks need to get one so that I can finish my thesis. he he hopefully having a new laptop will boost my spirit to finish what should have been finished last year. he he

Kinda forget to update the first list about the CQ42-203A

bluetooth?..actually nearly ALL lappie got it..so they dun bother to list it out...
BUT, as the saying goes, better not to assume and ASk personally or survey in websites...the toshiba L640D and acer 4551 all got Bluetooth lah..

and those suggested by ASTRIA in the post above are also worth considering...all are release less than 3 months..
