gogo get one =D

Err don't need it on my tele yet, will get it once I get another shorter focal zoom lens. If the 17-50 is RM2850, I might as well consider the 16-35 f/4 VR... at least can still use when change to FX biggrin.gif.

16-35mm F4 is F4... it some how defeats the purpose of buying since initially you wan 1750 for f2.8 =D but it's a great lens!

@nic
And I suppose should have no back/front focusing prob and much more sharper.
*
This one has the kick ass same VR system as my 70-200 mah. The slow shutter can compensate for f/4 to f/2.8 tongue.gif. I tried this lens, dead sharp and AF is damn fast too.

24mm f/1.4G really so good ah?
Got distortion or not ah?
*
Probably no distortion when used with crop sensor IMO. I saw 24 f/1.4G being used for portrait at PM.com.

i tot for 50mm, the old D focuses faster with body motor than the G?
heard frm dunno who at D3/D700/D300 thread
*
Yes, and if you're talking about pro bodies like D300 and above, it is even faster, as in the differences are bigger.

Picture Control on NEF can only be viewed on Nikon's own software. CaptureNX/ViewNX will do smile.gif.

Don't know which Picture Control is best? It depends what you want, it is DSLR you're free to decide how you want the outcome to be.

guys, i m trying to gauge what the f0.4 diff will 'look like'. So if i use my kit lens and take 2 photos in let say f3.6 and f4.0.

Will this be a good gauge to see the diff of 50mm f1.4 and f1.8?...
*
f/1.4 and f/1.8 is 2/3 stop of light differences light.

f/3.6 and f/4.0 I not sure is how much differences of light stop.. so you can't compare that way :S.

IMO, if you can get about RM350-380 that's probably a good deal already.

RM350~RM380 should be able to get from places like J-One at Amcorp Mall, or Photo Selangor. Not too sure but probably can get better pricing depending on your negotiation skills biggrin.gif.

Shashinki always sell a little bit higher than local price so I always use it as my guide line and never get anything above their price. smile.gif

Same style, anything above Shashinki's price or close to it -> pricey for me.

I've one of these lens. What kinda of problem are you referring to?

The manufacturing problem? I didn't noticed on mine, if got also probably little bit and not as severe as those on the internet, but so far IQ is good for me smile.gif

Only issue I don't like with my VR2 is breathing issue sad.gif. Effective focal at min focusing distance is like 130mm only sad.gif, unlike the VR1 which is about 190mm or so.

ya...heard one of my fren say there is manufacturing problems inside d lens..
hmm is tat anyway to solve the breathing issue?
*
Yes, there's the infamous manufacturing problem. But Nikon declared it is not a problem, so... for me as long it does not break down I'm ok with it la biggrin.gif

Breathing issue is one of the issue with the lens, won't be fixed unless new revision out I guess.

No wonder some ppl say they prefer the old model VR1 than VR2 and I was wondering why all this time.
*
Correction tongue.gif, most VR1 owners I know have changed to VR2. So basically can find second hand VR1s around actually.

Oh, 18-105mm and 50mm f/1.8D. Hehe, currently thinking of my next lens. Thinking of going UWA, but a bit reluctant to spend money on crop sensor lens, wanted to go for a short range f/2.8 too, but all is crop only sad.gif.

Now considering the 16-35 f/4 VR hmm.gif
