Sorry, my mistake. Yeah, it is extreme cheap if it is kit set. RM2.5k is cheaper than US set and Japan set. I doubt that price. I ask my Hong Kong friend to confirm.

As long as he is in Hong Kong then Hong Kong set is pretty fine. If he is in Malaysia and bought it back to Malaysia then not worth. Any problem he will take the risk. Also make sure it is not underwater set. Hong Kong set have no warranty in Malaysia so any problem you have to pay for the repair.
Go for D90, now D90 dropping price already. Worth to buy it. Or else you can wait for D95 (replacing model for D90). D200 is not worth it, even D300 also not worth it. D300 got higher noise under high ISO compare to D90. And D90 have video mode and live view but D300 and D200 both also don't have.

Well, Penang price is cheaper.
*
Too far for me bro, which is why I bought it from KL instead. Didn't want to risk shipping something this expensive as well.

Penang always sell camera stuffs cheaper than the rest, I wonder why hmm.

I'm thinking of getting a flashhead and play with some makeshift 'studio' shots. Do flashheads attach themselves to tripods?
*
I think you could probably get those converters from tripod to flash. Haven't tried mounting flash on tripod yet, so far what I've seen are flash light stands, mounting to the stand looks different.

Taken yesterday, 200mm f/2.8 -> creamy bokeh biggrin.gif. Well of course, background cannot be busy, else won't look so creamy.

Walao, pin sharp and creamyyyyyyy!!!
Since when you have this lens? XD

Sorry i thought is 200mm prime lens f2.8 haha
70-200VR II is simply amazing T.T

Added on April 25, 2010, 12:52 pmHey actually how to use exposure compensation on our camera? When the condition is too bright (for example, super bright sun) should i lower the EV or increase?

My instinct told me is to decrease so that the picture will be darker, is it?
*
That will be 200mm f/2 instead tongue.gif. To get such bokeh, your background cannot be busy.

Compensation? Are you trying to meter the skies? Or meter your object? It depends what you want to meter. Our matrix metering will get fooled at times, so you'll have to do compensations for that.

Is it necessary to use the exposure compensation? I don't really use that and I always leave it at 0. I saw your EXIF for this 200mm shot is at +2/3 stop. So putting it POSITIVE value will increase brightness? Or positive tells the camera that the condition is too bright, so camera will meter it darker?

Added on April 25, 2010, 1:02 pmNvm, understood already, googled =D

smile.gif, I wanted a overexposed feel as well for this portrait smile.gif. Most girls like it this way you see hehe, makes them look fair and also less work for us photogs (post processing that is).

Another one,

wai celciuz!! wai??!!!!
Hhmm i tot when shooting portrait you are suppose to use spot metering...
*
There's no suppose in metering. Spot metering is for the pros who knows how to see black minus how much, light areas how much metering. I'm not one of these, so I use matrix and compensation for it.

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Apr 25 2010, 01:41 PM)
Noticed that you did you fill flash for the 2nd pic? mind teaching how to fill flash? Did you use direct flash or what?
*
The flash actually failed LOL~ didn't fill much ._. fill a bit more and the model gets overexposed.

50mm if want bokeh you've to go f/1.8 or f/1.4. Or maybe in future the upcoming f/1.2 biggrin.gif

Bokeh from f/2.8, can't recall what focal length for this.

celciuz, nicely done pieces there...
I'd prefer to slightly overexpose as well for portraits and the reason you've mentioned earlier.
And for your pics, it's just nice on both my calibrated screens, doesn't really look too much over, just nice.

Btw, for creamy bokeh, KTCY, remember the 105 DC we tested, damn that's one of the most poisonous portrait lens ever built...
If you can find the 135, thats even better.
But currently, i'm happy with the loaned 85 F/1.8 in my drybox...The bokeh is still fantastic eventhough not as good as the 1.4... laugh.gif

Oh ya, isepunya, if u expect creamy bokeh at the range of 17-50, u better hope u have something <1.4, for anything at 2.8, it just wouldn't really work...

Before the 1.2, lets just wait for the 85 F/1.4 VR which is due to release soon, that i believe will be another extremely poisonous lens...
*
Thanks bro smile.gif.

85mm f/1.4 VR is going to be one heck of low light lens. Slow shutter + ability to use big aperture rocks!

Will take note notworthy.gif about this. I'm able to see the shoulders on my screen (uncalibrated screen laugh.gif ) though which is why I thought it is still ok.

If you think alright, then just stay with it. Just our comment & critics.

No point keep defending that it looks alright to you but to other it's not. Photos taken are not just for viewing of your own. So whether to take or not, is up to you. After all, just our 2cents.

And again to me, it's look pale and overexposed. Very pale in fact. I rest my case.
*
I don't need to defend myself on this. Everyone has their own style of shooting, I respect your C&C. I'm just stating my point of view.

Cheers.

Futuromic move to Berjaya Times Square now. Coz just sent my tammy to Kota Damansara side and they asking customer send to Times Square. More faster coz all the technician all moving there.
*
Yea, my friend also told me cause he had his new 17-50 VC exchanged. Whoever whose getting this lens, make sure the serial is after 27000+. Batch before has focusing issue. (front focus). But if already bought, can just bring to Futuromic for 1-1 exchange.

Weather was terrible, hot and no wind blowing. Very suffocating~ Rain almost spoiled the shooting, but lucky thing it was just a drizzle phew.
