no problem at all with KVR, especially if you're not overclocking at all
but of course flash it to the latest bios after you're got it running |

QUOTE(chidori @ Oct 18 2005, 02:29 PM) i just got my dfi system, now so confused with the fsb:dram multiplier 7/10?i'm running 300htt x 8 currently but when is set my divider to 1/2 -- runs the memory at 150 (this one's normal) 2/3 -- memory ar 200 (ddr400 normal) 3/4 -- memory at 218 (shouldn't it be 300x3/4=225 ?) 7/10 -- memory at 300 ( no idea why but it boot to memtest) other multiplier wont even boot to the memtest, the wierdest i coud say is the 7/10 which runs ar ddr600 but i didnt bother to finish the mem test coz it's impposible for my ram any help is welcomed, sorry i'm noob in amd o/c ..... shouldnt that be 1:1 instead? erm..maybe a typo, ask other Ultra-D users what are u trying to do first of all? if you're looking for your proc's highest clock, just set the divider at 2:1 so you'll be testing your cpu only if you're testing your rams then set it to 1:1 and start from a lower HTT |

set your HTT to 240 then and FSB : DRAM to 1:1
change the cpu multi to 9X since the fsb is so low btw isnt the LDT multi your HTT multi? then it should be between 1-5 8X should be your cpu multi This post has been edited by KilJim: Oct 18 2005, 06:09 PM |

if you're using a 3000+ as in your sig, your proc is limited to a 9X multi
10X for 3200+ and so on the higher HTT would give a better performance, but its nothing noticable for benching only la |

CPU speed = HTT X multi (300 X 8)
as for the ram dividers, lets wait for someone with a Lanparty to explain it, mine's kinda different in the bios btw with the 7/10 did u try getting into windows and using cpuz or something to verify? This post has been edited by KilJim: Oct 18 2005, 08:26 PM |

then lower your HTT to about 280 with that divider or till u can enter windows and check
might be a bug |

QUOTE(chidori @ Oct 19 2005, 09:21 AM) wah....... thx for veryfying for me dude aiyak so low ar, was kinda excited with babyelf's screenie 2 x1gb, chipset infenion BE-5, timing 3-4-4-8 1T, vdimm 2.6. now running 210Mhz best can achieve is 2.5-3-3-7 1T at 200Mhz i tried 220 but cant pass memtest, how much voltage should i feed the ram? how abt the mobo chipset voltage? just bump it to 3.0vdimm or something, definately wont kill the rams doubt any more than that will give a boost, but u can try it out la i set my chipset to 1.6v, dont seem to have any improvement above that perhaps the lack of cooling |

umm....first thing if u did not know yet, when u raise your CPU's HTT, your rams will be raised together
i'm guessing your rams are causing it to be unstable since u said u didnt change the multiplier for that plus the Mushkin Green Line are pretty crappy... |

think u didnt read the proper overclocking guides, am i right?
well first thing u do is lower the multi for your rams i believe in the page where u set the timings there's an option for DDR400, DDR333, DDR266 and so on by default it's DDR400 if your rams are, set it to something lower like DDR333 or lower btw all these stuff are really basic...so pls read up on it since i'm in a good mood, here are some links, these are probably all you'll need to know http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...167&postcount=3 http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20823 read the first link first, 2nd link has a lottt of info |

have u updated your bios?
it might be some kinda protection thing too if it detects that your settings are totally unstable, it'll set it back to the default settings just my guess, dont take this as a fact |

Date Code 2005/08/11 File CK84D811.zip Size 294,468 bytes Description 1. fix IDE channel 2 access mode issue.remove CPU temp (outside) item. 2. Change DRAM configuration item value. 3. CPU voltage 1.55~1.85 one step 250mv. 4. add chipset fan control 90%, 70% and 60% i downloaded this bios, n extracted it.
