got abit prob la, if i CPU-z my mobo (MSI 770-C45), in the cpuz it will say im using SB750, but the msi website it says SB710, got bug in the cpuz?

i'm just a newbie as u, if u look @ d mostfets of diff boards many2 times, u'll notice d diff... gigabyte use very tiny fets, msi use dr mos which is quite big for their premuim boards (one for each phase), normal grade for their budget line (2 mosfets per phase), and d lists go on...

believe me, i'm happily retired now... 930d ftw...

depend on the processor , with correct bios . you should be able to unlock it

What does "correct bios" mean? The version I assume? Cause I googled and some people can't unlock the 4th core..

Haha...they knew the trick that can unlock..cut less their profits ><...but my main purpose of getting a Phenom II x3 720BE was the 4th core..can spend less 50+ bucks

u get what u pay for...but to gain another core is a luck..
how about try 555BE..higher success rate..C3 somemore...
if want buy 550BE, 720 or any other, go survey the success batch at AMD unlock 4core thread..some ppl posted their batch number that succeed in unlocking..

550BE latest batch i donno the success rate.seems like 555BE get higher rate of success.. get the 2nd hand that confirm can unlock instead..and for the price, u can surf around to see..

Yeah. Googled. Seem to me a lot reviews saying they will pick 550BE than 720BE cause of the higher success rate of unlocking to 4 cores. Some say they will go for 720BE because whether or not can unlock the 4th core, it's just a bonus. I'm still scratching my head because I want to buy a MSI 770T C45 which can use my old DDR2 RAMs..

Any idea the DDR2 will affect the unlock?

so far it wont.. if u want 4core for sure, take athlonII x4 instead..and unlock the L3 cache.. if cant unlock still get x4
but i guess it is quite hard now to find the deneb cored athlonII x4.. u might have to search around and see the batch number that have "AC" in the middle iinm.. if u get the propus cored, it is impossible to unlock the l3 cache since there is no any..

The 720BE is my maximum budget so far... if I could unlock the 720BE 4th core, it's a bonus. If not I will just stay for 3 cores. Those 3 cores are actually enough for gaming. I heard that if the 720BE OCed past 3.7-3.9GHz the system gets unstable..is that true?
