QUOTE(andrekua @ Jul 12 2010, 09:58 AM) I read in XDA forum that someone actually had keys and coins inside his pocket along with Legend and so far no scratches on the screen nor peel off on the aluminium body. Have seen the videos of some of HTC's newer phones being tortured but I think I'll still take minimal precautions to safeguard the pristine condition of my Legend anyhow

I think that argument needs more specific context. Apple sells 130,000 iPhones a day. That's one model from one company.
Android sells 160,000 but from numerous manufacturers, offering even more numerous models, in various flavors.
Look at it this way, which would be more worthy of attention, one woman giving birth to eight kids (octuplets), or eight women having ten kids?
I might not like Steve Jobs or Apple but I would not take anything away from the unqualified success that is the iPhone.

QUOTE(andrekua @ Jul 25 2010, 12:54 AM) If there is only one Android phone, I think it would also reach this target (65,000/day) easily. People are getting bored with it, after all the same thing for 5th year. Slight changes each year is becoming quite boring. Besides people are anticipating great things with Android. I cant wait for full FLASH. I think Apple really need to sit down and come out with something radical. Thats why some Apple owners can resist upgrading cos its minimal. They still does the same thing with some cosmetic upgrades. Android on the other hand just keep on changing and evolving. It might still join the same route Apple took or maybe not, who knows. It really felt like what Symbian is when it started few years ago. Unfortunately, that is conjecture. It is often tempting to transpose "I" for "the people", when it may not always be the case.

If it's just the 2-3 hours, you can stretch the battery out with Juice Defender.
I don't use it myself as I find that Juice tends to prevent my mail from being synced.
But if you can live with that, it'll give you the little extra you're looking for.

Yeah, I have those wonky buttons but fully expected it to be the case as they're hard buttons.
Which is why I'd much rather the Legend came with soft keys like the Nexus instead.

If indeed they've managed to get Sense to play nicely with Froyo, it shouldn't be long behind.

QUOTE(lokety @ Jul 30 2010, 02:27 AM) Does anyone know any way to enable the lock screen by pressing other buttons other than the power button? I find it troublesome compared to other HTC phones. No Lock in Android Market: you can then use all your buttons to unlock the phone. The downside is also that you can accidentally unlock your phone by hitting any button and can no longer use gesture locks. But I use it anyway.

Uninstall Swype and run the installer again, it will work once you do this. QUOTE(ember @ Aug 4 2010, 11:28 AM) Yeah, same here. Back to the default htc keyboard for now..

My battery life is clearly down, going from 18 hours to 14 hours based on Juice Plotter. Guess they ramped up the radio to boost connection. Can't say I'm pleased with the "improvement".

Has anybody successfully added more than one Gmail account to their Legend? I've been trying but it always says "Unable to connect with the servers".
IIANM, there's a bug that prevents the Legend from syncing more than one Gmail account, but I thought they might have fixed it with latest firmware.
I still can't. Anybody?

I still love my Legend, and I know I'll love it even more once I get me some Froyo.
From form to functionality, there's hardly a thing l'd change about it. Maybe a touch more processing power would be nice.
I don't know what all the whining about wifi is about, I get signals from well over 100 meters away, where my netbook doesn't even get a whiff of one. By any measure, that's good enough for me.
Android is stable, fun, with lots of great Apps on the way.
I've bought many gadgets. I liked most and regretted some, but I can safely say the Legend is the only one I've ever loved.

Have you tried removing the clock widget and adding it back? I find that usually helps with misbehaving widgets.
