eh my friend having problem with the microphone on Kave. He plug in everything (USB + pink cable), the LED light is all on, but the mic isn't working in Skype.

All the settings should be correct.. When plug in other microphone it works.

Why like that...
*

LED must be off sweat.gif
QUOTE(Roccat)
You can tell if the microphone has been muted when the blue LED on the tip of the microphone is lit up.
QUOTE(Roccat)
You can mute the microphone by pressing the ‘MIC MUTE’ button on the lower side of the desktop remote.

hmm.gif Who wanna borrow me their surfaces for comparison? laugh.gif
QUOTE(kInOzAwA @ Mar 7 2010, 02:08 AM)
good review though.. maybe it's time to review it again with the optional soundcard in.
*

No money to get 1 cry.gif but then again I'm pretty sure the result will be more or less the same. While improving the soundcard, it improves the output for not only 1 headsets but for all of them especially for the Kave because its 5.1 as opposed to Siberia and Piranha's 2.1.

Updates:
  1. If you play DiRT2 like bumper cars then you'll experience lotsa vibration from Kave's Game mode. When you turn around in your trailer, you can distinguish the 5.1 clearly.
  2. Did not sense vibration from COD:MW2 and H.A.W.X.
  3. Review layout updated. Click images to view fullsize.

how does it feel when it vibrates? Is it strong?
*

Yep, strong enough for a proper good feel. If its an explosion, then it will imitate to do the same. But this vibration is only limited to audio with such output.

QUOTE(JasonJenn @ Mar 8 2010, 12:50 PM)
Hi i wanna know if u are able to distinguish clearly the directions of sound.. whether all 5 speakers can be distinguished properly... especially in CS and COD... Bioshock 2 will be a good silent FPS game to pin point where are the sounds are coming from

since its a 5.1. headphones it must be able to do it job.. can u make a comparison with the 5.1 simulated surroud sound by Siberia..

Thanks bro!
*

Siberia is simulated 7.1 which I can't distinguish almost anything at all. As for the Kave, yes, all directions can be distinguished quite very clearly.

This 1 compare with Steelseries 5HV2 , which 1 will win ?
*

Its hard to say, some say Siberia's better than 5H v2 while the others say otherwise. So its mostly self preference, however most say 5H v2 doesn't have much difference from Siberia Full-size Headset USB so its totally up to you. Siberia Full-size Headset USB offers 2 50mm drivers while the 5H v2 has only 2 40mm drivers.
QUOTE(chiahau @ Mar 8 2010, 03:56 PM)
4 jacks..
My lappy only got 3 sound jacks..
So means I can exclude 1 of them and still get 5.1 performance?
LOL..
Using desktop so long dy until 4get laptop got 3 holes only..
>.>
Means I can either put all the cable and exclude the mic or should I exclude one of the cable and insert the mic?
Since I hardly use mics anyway..
Might intend to get 1 soon around april coz now stocks all too limited..
T.T
My audio technica is on sabbatical leave till june..
Time to get a temp headset..
*

Well, too bad for you doh.gif exclude the mic then, use it when necessary.

Wanna ask ,is there any headphone from Roccat(or other Manufacturer)that provide with real 7.1 surround speaker rather than simulate?
*

Razer Megalodon is real 7.1 biggrin.gif

Edit: After thorough checking Megalodon is simulated 7.1 with 2.1 speakers configuration.

Really? Is there other 7.1 headphone? How about the performance?
Wow,same like Roccat(but Roccat is 5.1 real). Is that real 7.1 means got different speaker instead of maybe 2 speaker but simulate into a surround?
*

5.1 = front left/right, center/sub, rear left/right
7.1 = front left/right, center/sub, side left/right, rear left/right

hmm.gif After thorough checking, Megalodon's 7.1 is simulated.

No, no, it's simulated 7.1 using the Maelstrom Engine.

Simulated as it is, the sound's pretty accurate in CS:S.

I'm guessing the Kave will be more accurate, it being real 5.1, have u tried it, bro?
*

Yep, I've tried CS:S, COD:MW2, COD4:MW and L4D2. All sounded fantastic. After reading some reviews about Megalodon they say the simulated 7.1 is not accurate.

Just curious, how strong is the vibration.

Can't be good to have vibration in different areas of the head.
*

Strictly speaking, its quite soft but like you said, the headset being on your head, the vibration don't have to be so strong. It is strong enough to give you a realistic feel, provided the game/movie have such audio quality because most DVDRip and average musics only got 2.0 quality. So far I've only experienced vibrations in 5.1 movies/games.

For gaming, can Roccat Kave pinpoint enemy location in CS accurately like audio technica ad700, roccat kave price are similar to audio technica ad700 in US
*

I've never used an Audio Technica before but I can tell you the Kave is accurate with the positioning.

QUOTE(zerorating @ Mar 9 2010, 12:04 AM)

Well... Basically the sound quality is better than headsets which has simulated virtual sound.
*

It is much more accurate than simulation.
QUOTE(OlgaC4 @ Mar 9 2010, 05:27 PM)
This is bad or good? i am noob in headphone.
*

Roccat's aim is create a headset so accurate that the Kave's drivers are aligned at a 12' angle to provide maximum realism.
