Take a look and compare, it's obvious that these Kone[+] and it's predecessor it's not using the same 6090 sensor, Kone[+] are using the same sensor as Steelseries XAI, Logitech G9X, Gigabyte GM-M8000X.

QUOTE(TechnoG @ Oct 15 2010, 08:16 AM)
take a n example of Philips Twin-Eye sensor that used to be quite problematic.
and look at how Razer patched up their firmware to make it problem-free.
but CM Storm Sentinel phailed even though it's the same sensor.

I doubt Roccat will fix this issue.
take a look at the scroll button issues on Kone V1. When Kone V2 was released, the didn't even fix that.

Like I said, the manufacturer do play a important role.

but most of them are bias, cause that's a Roccat shop blog.
*
Kone V2 did fix on it's scroll button, atleast my scroll button doesn't even have any problems and feels solid.

Razer did patch up the firmware for Z-Axis problem right? This is varies, Some has it while some has it minor, and some hate it. Imperator was said to has fix it completely. Look at this video.

And Some user has already said
QUOTE
that definitely sounds like Dynamic DPI Scaling algorithm Razer uses in their latest firmwares for the Twin-Eye sensor. It is to minimize the z-axis issues but it has a negative effect on tracking, because it lowers DPI when you make slow moves.

Okay... lower your DPI while you make slow movement.. Fix by using this? is this even a fix?

QUOTE(kianweic @ Oct 15 2010, 10:48 AM)
Other than Kone + having higher DPI compared to the original Kone.

Are there any other differences?

This is because I am quite interested in getting Kone.
*
take a look at the spec i provided above, but this is just laser sensor Spec thou, please go to their website to look thru the product, i provided the links.

Hiya everyone,
would love to share my experience, please advise or comment.
I'm new to Roccat just bought myself Roccat 2 months back;
Roccat Kave,Apuri,Sota and Sense (present for frens)
Would say imma happy wif the product
but it take me time to get used wif Sota though,
havin hard time to adjust em,
previously was usin Icemat 1st generation (been faithful to me for many years !!)
until it was broken.
imma using Razer Copperhead mouse,
ifounded it was way too smooth on Roccat Sota
it has lesser grip power in comparison wif my Icemat,
ihad to lower my dpi in order to get hold of my accuracy.
1 more thing is ibought myself Razer Mamba but to my suprise it
can't run on Roccat Sota, the pointer just went berserk but when i putted
the Mamba on el cheapo mousepad it works fine !
and so i do a few test run on my frens mousepad
to name a few; Roccat Sense and Razer Vespula goes well with it.
it does maketh me wonder,
in the end igave up the Mamba to my frens as b'day present.
the mouse is kinda bulky to me,no matter how i try to get used wif it
it dun goes compatible wif me,my FPS skilled suxx to max when usin Mamba.
Currently still in quest lookin for a new mouse.
Thx though is Tldr.

Best regards,
Sampah.

If you are keen for a ROCCAT mouse, then you may wait for the soon-to-arrive ROCCAT Kone[+]. Actually your Mamba is already good enough, maybe find another mousepad to pair with it?

When looking for a mouse, there are some things you should consider:
- The shape (ergo or ambi?)
- Sensor
- Price (basically your budget)
- Design (you want more blings?)

From some basic things, we can then narrow down to a few possible options for you. biggrin.gif

Just finished readin from page 1-40.
Look like the Roccat community still not tht large here,
some of the item still hasn't had any review.

Shape- ergonomic..something not as large as Mamba,
prefer something like DA,Copperhead,Xai something within the range of sizes.
Sensor- no preferences.
Price-I have no budget, still afford to get a good mouse though,
a lil satisfaction from hell of a workin life.
Design- as for design goes, not too flashy though.

Thx for the tips and advises.

As for mousepad,ihave no worry,
not an a very experienced or have multiple mousepad user,
so far been usin Func Industries and Icemat Original,
i think mousepad one could use time and get used wif it
same thing applied to the Roccat Sota ibought,
at first imma kinda not used to it,
due to the superb smooth and non mouse grippin surface
but after some time of usin em..started get wif the touch and flow,
so it ain't no problem.
but different wif mouse. Time after time,
no matter how itry it just won't get connected, we just can't feel the touch,
likewise the 1st time ibought Copperhead,at 1st imma thinkin it was way too large for me
but after a day or two usin em...it last till today, number of years has gone.
My Copperhead still doin good; and lovin em.
Just feel like gettin a new mouse.

If you like your Copperhead, I think you will be fine with the Kone[+], if you are not sure whether or not to trust ROCCAT then next possible mouse you might want to consider is the SteelSeries Xai. If you're more towards the ergonomic side then will be different story. biggrin.gif

The Xai will be on top in my opinion minus some bling effects that the Kone[+] has. biggrin.gif

As a user of the kone[+] I find that even though if it is just an interpolated sensor from the old mouse, it makes a very significant improvement over the old mouse. It may look the same, but the feel and performance is totally different. Its a whole "new" mouse in a way.

Definitely, from various feedback from users around the world, if they do not improve the Kone then many would probably lose faith in the brand.

approx 6 hours. You can always plug in the cable and use it if the battery level is low. flex.gif
