I believe the sign of desperation is at its maximum.
What do you guys think?
Apple is suing HTC (or Android indirectly)

hmm, its really funny that apple is trying to patent every single thing.
Instead of whining other people stealing their technology, they should be innovative and come out with something better. |

Apple will fail I believe..Stuff that they patent are ridiculous..They were not the only Touch screen innovators in this world..There have been touchscreen devices before their touch screen products..LOSERS! He who nags and b****es about people stealing their stuff clearly is afraid of competition..This is the only ball in their court which they can use to fight with HTC - and I am very sure HTC boys have been smart enough and will be able to fight back (or at least Google will slash them into pieces if they step in for HTC)..I bet Google can afford the most expensive lawyers on earth

Scanned through the list of "patents" that they were referring to and it is totally ridiculous.
Practically they are indicating that all other phones should revert back to the version that graham bell invented... |

How come they dont sue China for making those fake iPhones?
Microsoft should bring them to court too for creating a 'useless, non-multitasking OS'. It's general knowledge that it's a patent for MS-DOS. |

Lol, that's a good one Being someone who admired (still do...) the apple iphone (despite used to own 4 of those but none actually works perfectly...), I think it's a shame that apple can't take competitions as it is... Rather than suing everyone else on the face of the earth, might as well spend those time and money on their r&d and offer its fans the product that they really deserve at a more reasonable price? that is what "patent" is all about,
Steve Jobs says, "We can sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions, or we can do something about it. We've decided to do something about it...We think competition is healthy, but competitors should create their own original technology, not steal ours." |

QUOTE(arturn @ Mar 4 2010, 12:08 AM) Apple is not suing Google. They dont have anything on Google. So they went for the next best thing, picking on HTC, Google's tightest hardware partner. I dont think it's really about their patents and how HTC is stealing their ideas. I think it's more about Apple's issue on getting the next gen iPhones into the market. One factor was that their prototype was leaked in China. So they have to start all over again. Google immediately grabbed the opportunity in Apple's delay by releasing the N1. And then HTC went on an announce the next batch of 2010 Android phones which are far superior in every way than the 3GS. Apple had to do something to slow down HTC and Google or else they'll be losing market share big time. What they are seeking now is an injunction to stop HTC from selling their Android devices. Apple doesnt really care if they can win the law suit or not. As long as the injunction is passed, they will consider that as a win. IMHO, It's just a ploy to buy time to get their '4G' iPhones out so that they wont be left too far behind.I have this creepy feeling that Google had already anticipated this move by Apple and Apple is playing right into their hands. Google will probably surprise us all with a counter attack. Come on now, you dont just go challenging the currently most dominant smartphone in the market without thoroughly considering the consequences and having any backup plans. @hendra86 So that's what "patent" is all about according to Apple. I bet Jobs learnt that line from Creative when Apple was sued for stealing Zune's patented technology for their iPod. |

I have this creepy feeling that Google had already anticipated this move by Apple and Apple is playing right into their hands. Steve Jobs is one impatient and emotional CEO. The last time someone made him go all defensive about Apple was when he was asked about Adobe Flash and Nexus One and that's recent news. LOL. I can't believe he's losing his patience easily on this. Apple is actually trying to find weaknesses on other competitor..
They seems like just knew HTC is grow up greatly and maybe against them someday?? Or at last people are defusing Apple's brands?? |

QUOTE(faridaizuddin @ Mar 5 2010, 08:46 AM) Apple is actually trying to find weaknesses on other competitor.. I think the better word to put this would be "loopholes". I don't think what HTC+Android have against the iphone os are weakness. They are innovations and obviously apple takes that as a threat to their existance. They seems like just knew HTC is grow up greatly and maybe against them someday?? Or at last people are defusing Apple's brands?? At least this shows that HTC+Android actually manage to give some real good competition to the iphone and that apple actually "acknowledge" this. When they can't compete, they will just search high and low for loopholes to save themselves. |

Actually I find it strange that they didn't realise that their prototype can be leaked easily in china.
5 years ago I heard china was manufacturing their own DVD player using Sony's DVD player casing. The only difference was the Brand sticker was changed. Turns out that the supplier supplying Sony's DVD players casing was also supplying the same casing to another china dvd player manufacturer. After that sony moulded the brand name together with the casing so that other manufacturerer couldn't use it. My point is didn't Apple expect that their prototype will be leaked? |

Apple is just being sour grapes about it. With great success with iPhone, they've become really greedy and do not even want to lose a small percentage of their market share.

Well, can't say that they are not worried as the small percentage now seems to have great potential to fight for a much bigger piece of the cake. |

samsung cant sue any1 since the patent already being used by many people for long time already.. samsung wont be able to patent the idea due to that matter unless they already patent before they initiate the idea..
