I believe the sign of desperation is at its maximum.
What do you guys think?
Apple is suing HTC (or Android indirectly)

How come they dont sue China for making those fake iPhones?
Microsoft should bring them to court too for creating a 'useless, non-multitasking OS'. It's general knowledge that it's a patent for MS-DOS. |

QUOTE(arturn @ Mar 4 2010, 12:08 AM) Apple is not suing Google. They dont have anything on Google. So they went for the next best thing, picking on HTC, Google's tightest hardware partner. I dont think it's really about their patents and how HTC is stealing their ideas. I think it's more about Apple's issue on getting the next gen iPhones into the market. One factor was that their prototype was leaked in China. So they have to start all over again. Google immediately grabbed the opportunity in Apple's delay by releasing the N1. And then HTC went on an announce the next batch of 2010 Android phones which are far superior in every way than the 3GS. Apple had to do something to slow down HTC and Google or else they'll be losing market share big time. What they are seeking now is an injunction to stop HTC from selling their Android devices. Apple doesnt really care if they can win the law suit or not. As long as the injunction is passed, they will consider that as a win. IMHO, It's just a ploy to buy time to get their '4G' iPhones out so that they wont be left too far behind.I have this creepy feeling that Google had already anticipated this move by Apple and Apple is playing right into their hands. Google will probably surprise us all with a counter attack. Come on now, you dont just go challenging the currently most dominant smartphone in the market without thoroughly considering the consequences and having any backup plans. @hendra86 So that's what "patent" is all about according to Apple. I bet Jobs learnt that line from Creative when Apple was sued for stealing Zune's patented technology for their iPod. |
