Huh? aussie set for which model? If 3gs then is official unlock, does not require any sim to activate it. If yours is 3g, then use snowbreeze for windows or pwnagetool for mac to activate/jailbreak it.

You used the wrong software to jailbreak it man. Blackrain only compatible with 3.1.2 firmware.

Put your phone into dfu mode only restore from iTunes.

DFU mode:
Hold 10 secs (sleep button + home button) then release sleep button and hold another 10 sec on home button.

If you really dont care, then plug in to iTunes and press restore. Just wait to download and will automatically format to IOS4. Voila !

When you restore, then your JB will reformat together. So think properly before you attempt to restore. And no way to JB for IOS4 yet.

cydia version is nothing. You try to reboot your device. Or maybe u had hid your categories icon. Thats y it didnt show up.

iPhone Backup Location for Windows 7, XP, and Vista

Windows XP stores all of your iPhone backup files in this location:

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

Windows Vista and Windows 7 backs up the iPhone files to here:

C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

Obviously if your main drive is not C: then you’ll have to change that, same goes for ‘user’.

iPhone Backup notes
There’s various reasons you’d need (or want) access to the iPhone Backup files, but generally speaking you should be able to rely on iTunes to handle all your iPhone restoration and backup needs. If you’re interested in keeping your own backup copies though, say for Jailbreaking purposes, knowing the location of the iPhone backup is handy.

You’ll notice that the files in the directory are almost all unusual and randomized names, like ffb541c48e97051fff2b1f906577cbef71123c4fb.mdbackup, these are all automatically generated. There’s also a few xml files in the directory that have unique identifier information about your iPhone.

This probably goes without saying, but unless you know what you’re doing you should NOT edit any of these iPhone backup files! Editing or deleting any of these files could result in improper, malformed, or otherwise unreliable backups, and any other number of problems with your iPhone.

If you’re looking for a way to access your iPhone files through some kind of browser application rather than the Finder or Windows Explorer, you could try some of the apps out there, but many of them are poorly made in my experience.

Your unit its confirm locked. I believe that previous owner unlock it using blacksn0w or unltrasn0w. The only way to make your unit to become official unlock is by paying a sum of $ to O2 to unlock it.

So for now, just stay with your current firmware. Once you upgraded, your phone will get locked. You can check ultrasn0w tread below to study more on this unlocking thinggy.

Perhaps its due to bugs in the new OS.. By the way, are you jailbroken your device? if yes and you do have saved 3.1.3 previously in cydia, you might want to downgrade to fw 3.1.3

Try to reset network settings and reboot your phone after done.

Dont confuse man, yours is iPhone 4? I bet you mean "used iPhone 'for' ".
If often face this problem then give a full restore. No point to frequently reset network, just troublesome. But make sure your set is official unlock set before upgrading/restoring.

If you dont bother about jailbreak. Then click restore on iTunes. not from your phone.
