On top of that I think the most you can do is take photos of your unit on all the facilities available, the more the better. I believe having the photos are more convincing to the students if they really are interested in renting your unit.

My bf made a call to Susanna Kuan, the edu fund manager, asking whether he has to declare his parents' income. She pretty much gave him a green light along the course of the conversation, saying that the application was excellent and that he has a very high chance of getting selected. She helped correct a few errors on his application too biggrin.gif How kind!

Interview takes place late May/early June.  As for the question prepping, hehehehe we have our sources, though not from the edu fund.
*
Hey cottoncandyclouds, may I know what course your bf is applying?

Mech engineering. XD Btw, when I meant question prepping, we meant researching everything and asking around. Seriously if anyone from the fund reads this, don't fail my bf on the basis of cheating or wtv. biggrin.gif
*
Whoa, Mech Eng, must be the kind that's darn good in Maths and Physics. I'm one of the applicant as well, Nutrition.

Might be meeting each other on interview day.

Question prep can get a lot from Internet la, takkan got inside info right... tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

Hehehehhehehehe not from edu fund. Never really researched on the net though. Use mouth ask around lor. XD

Yeah he's damn smart. He got first in his whole school and got first for physics in his college. But his studies got stagnated because of financial problems and he has been working for the past one year. sad.gif
*
"He has been working for the past one year." Don't underestimate this one year, it could be the point for him to elaborate on what he has learned and how does it help to shape the him today. Work experience could be the breakthru point that they are looking for. =)

I was doing a bit reading in Lowyat Forum just now and realised a few Uni's thread use the word "best" as well in their description. Perhaps we shouldn't ikut-same-aje? Sounds like a bit corny lor...

Maybe sth like, Higher Education • Done the British way?

Just a bit of my thought tho... Heh heh..

Let's say right, when me move to v4 (I think it'll be soon enough?), I suggest we recheck all the links and update any information that might be not relevant dy, also at the same time list out members who are currently student of Nottingham (and also in what course) so people who come here know who to ask/private message if they really have questions regarding some of the course the members here are currently studying in.

When are we moving to V4 btw?
*
I don't mind doing the first page for v4 tho. But it'll take some time for me to refer back to v1, v2 and v3 and update all of the links since Nottingham changed the website completely.

Also, might be doing a bit of stalking to include list of members who are currently in Nottingham (and in what course) to help out future visitors.

Will be adding this as well.

If there is anyone who wish to add in anything on the first page, do make suggestions. Don't really wanna copy paste whatever that's in the previous version just like that.

Added on April 13, 2011, 10:00 amErm but I thought we need a moderator to close the v3 thread isn't it?

Is nutrition course accredited by MQA?I search nothing in MQA's webside!
*
Nottingham has Self Accreditation Status given by MQA, so I think they can accredit it themselves (is that how things work actually?)

You're interested in Nutrition course as well? tongue.gif

The problem is where is the current TS?
It's a new course, and that's why it has not attained accreditation on MQA.

Added on April 13, 2011, 5:16 pm

Never mind the MQA. More important is those accreditations from the professional bodies, like IET, IMechE, BEM, ACCA, CIMA etc.
*
I don't think there will be any professional bodies related with Nutrition coz it's not even a 4 yr course, the graduates can only be a Nutritionist (not protected term), not a dietician.

Recognized course for Dieticians are listed in this website.

QUOTE(Mjern @ Apr 13 2011, 05:24 PM)
Ya,so MQA is not so important ?

UK's BSc Nutrition leads to accreditation by the Association for Nutrition.
http://www.associationfornutrition.org/

Malaysia Campus will probably seek accreditation from them as well, like what they have been doing for the other of their courses.
In Malaysia, the more relevant accreditation might come from JPA, for them to be able to work as a government servant in general hospitals as nutritionists.
*
@Mjern, found a few links related with JPA tho..

QUOTE(manthew @ Apr 18 2011, 03:15 AM)
you know I realised something really eerie about the pricing of Nottingham U accommodation.

eg.
"There is a separate meter for air-conditioning usage in the Single room with ensuite bathroom which will be read monthly and charged to the student.

Single Shared Bathroom in 5 Room Flat with A/C @ RM535 per student
Single Shared Bathroom in 5 Room Flat @ RM 435 per student"

So.. it means you have to pay an extra of RM100 for the presence of your AC and its electricity will be charged otherwise. Since you will most likely be living in for 9 months. You're basically paying RM900 for the room O.O That could get me a new AC!

Do they change a new AC right after the previous student vacated.. I highly doubt it.

Why are we so easily be bullied by the management =(.. just like how our government bullies the citizens
*
Could have bought a fan every month using that RM100 and make the room REAL windy. biggrin.gif

Call them up and talk with the Admission, let then know your case and see if there is anything they can do about it...

QUOTE(ken2kow @ Apr 21 2011, 11:54 AM)
juz mail ur application form to them. since it is free, no harm. right?
*
"Since it is free, no harm. right?" ABSOLUTELY WRONG, if they were to accept you, they will send an email seeking for RM1000 to confirm your place before they give you the offer, which seems to be a new policy this year.
