You'll definitely need a visa (can apply through Japan Embassy in Aus) but it's not 100% necessary to have a guarantor. You just need to prove that you have a good financial record (eg bank statements with enough funds etc...).

You can refer to the embassy's website (link in the first post) for more information and ask us if there's any specific part you're unsure of.

Go Japan...only thing you need is $$$.

If you not enough $$ then you need guarantor...but your guarantor also need have alot $$$$$.

So Conclusion of going Japan is $$$$$

It's nice and all... but it cost 2,400 JPY just for a one way travel until Ueno/Nippori. That's double of what I currently have to pay for my slow-@ss ride of almost 2 hours from my place to Narita Airport. I'm looking forward to any Malaysian airlines flying direct into Haneda. Singapore Airlines will be starting their route into Haneda in Oct (link).

Oh yeah, minasan..im going to hokkaido 17th, any interesting to recommend? i will stay at sapporo 2 days.. just sign up the travel package in HIS, only 30,000 yen for 4 days 3 nite includes air ticket and staying place..cheap rite?? hehe
