QUOTE(jasondotcom @ Apr 11 2010, 11:20 PM) bro..... NOBODY on earth changes timing belt at every 10k. NOBODY. agree....10k is too much....just throwing the money to the mechanic... normal time to change timing belt is ranging from 80 to 100k. it WILL NOT break before 100k UNLESS you are using FAKE / 2ND GRADE PARTS. i hv been driving and owning various cars in my life for donkey years and this is the first time i hear ppl saying they want to change timing belt every 10k. I would like to become ur mechanic if can... so i can earn a lot from you ripping you off. |

QUOTE(NSX_MY @ Apr 14 2010, 10:54 AM) after install the new brakes, at first a bit spongy than before, after drove it for like 4-5km, then the brake starting to get better, but still feels not much difference compare before, probably because i fixed my rear brake drum before which results the brakes performs at lot better? oh well, will review the new brake once its bed in, is it necessary to drive 2k only the new brake starts to bed in? about the fan spinning even you turn off the engine...is because the engine is operating above the recommended temperature....i guess you didnt wait for the radiator water to drop and wait for all the trap bubbles appear and fill in until full......last time i do have the same problem also...fill in fully in the radiator but did not know inside still got air trap inside...so as the air goes out the water level drop causes the temperature to rise thus cause the engine operating extreme hot that is why the fan spins.....do check on the coolant level to see if it drops or not after few days of driving.lol, we are using the same coolant, toyota stuff are mostly OEM by GEP which is under UMW. |

QUOTE(NSX_MY @ Apr 14 2010, 11:45 AM) I see, no wonder the mechanics asked me to check the water level on the next morning which i forgot to check it be sure to keep an eye for these few days to fill in the water.....or best is morning start your engine and open the radiator cap to let the trapped air go out..then slowly fill in the water... |

QUOTE(Hypro @ Apr 16 2010, 05:56 PM) Handling I can say it is better than Vios or City, but I never try Altis. old altis...not really stable...as cruising around 150km can feel rear wobble (passenger)....where the new altis that i drive it quite frequent, highway cruising around is quite good and stable but i found that hard cornering on the new altis, sometimes will make the rear buang abit and will understeer more compare to my persona stock suspension with 3point barBut in terms of power it need a lot of mod to make it better of course altis wins in terms of comfort but i feel persona's is just nice..not too hard nor soft... Added on April 16, 2010, 11:54 pm QUOTE(JonSpark @ Apr 16 2010, 07:39 PM) of all the cars i pwned, Altis is the easiest....dunno why vios driver all very skillful Vios harder cuz smaller, handling sucks but can squeeze in between cars.....nimble This post has been edited by loong2020: Apr 16 2010, 11:54 PM |

They reply me start the engine for a while then, turn off, u will see the at max lvl.(i yet to try....dunno true or not) fill in 3.5-3.7L is more than enough.....and starting the engine and turning off its not accurate to see the oil level unless you check in the morning... |

normal...its the drive by wire delay that cause the rpm to rev up everytime you change the gear...to reduce this, hold on 1sec before change the gear...

QUOTE(dARKaNGEl @ Apr 28 2010, 09:57 AM) i have been pumping caltex everytime now. gives me good balance in terms of mileage, smoothness, engine sound and power. caltex indeed the engine sound quieter and more smoother than esso ron95...but the problem is caltex station is about 10km from my house... i tried esso before but the mileage somehow not as good for my car. try caltex and the location of caltex station is very little....so if want to stick to caltex a bit problem and too bad caltex didn't offer any loyalty points card like esso did where can change for petrol.. as for bhp, its not bad, engine sound sumwhere between caltex & esso....and pickup much better.... and did not bother to try out shell & petronas...as i tried shell on the other car, the pickup really sucks... |
