i dont know woo. i only know mine change at 10 k and 20k.. feel quite wasted cause when pour out.. the radiator water color still very green. and i never refill also
*
you can judge visually by looking at the color of the coolant....even its green, the properties in the coolant might wear off..... best i would say for coolant change is every 20-25k....

then i ma kena cheated by the sc liao lor.. the coolant cost around rm30.. damm.. CHANGED EVERY 10K...  mad.gif
*
laugh.gif ...normally coolant can last 1year or 20k.....for coolant you dont need to use proton ones, try caltex long life or toyota long life...that can last you even longer as twice/triple longer compare to normal green coolant

well, its consider cheap though, thats because persona stock windscreen is using tempered glass, which is cheaper than laminated glass (cut cost). Difference between these 2 are they made in different process. But laminated is safer, tempered offers no protection. Most car that comes with UV stock glass are laminated. i just replaced my fiance's myvi windscreen due to the crack (S-shape 30-35cm long and crack itself with no reason), more expensive (RM650) cause the stock Myvi windscreen is UV laminated.
*
only front is laminated...the 4doors and rear is tempered....same goes to majority cars like vios, city brows.gif

imo..
front grill-ugly,prefer the current ones
meter console-even more uglier, big number and the temperature/fuel meter looks sucks...like didnt design properly
rims-not really nice
skirting might not be necessary...

other than that, the 32bits ecu is the only plus point and should introduce upon launching.... laugh.gif ....the beauty of the car not really as nice as the current models... doh.gif

beside ECU, everything else sucks.. tongue.gif

the ECU will have auto wiper activation, auto dimming light, and smoother driving..but this kind of feature should have introduce since it was launch....another gimmick to find more money... laugh.gif

i thought we should check the lubricant oil when the engine is cold? all this while i am checking it when it was cold in the morning. because if the engine is started, of cos it will should lower level as the oil start to stick on the other parts in the internal of engine. we need give it sometime for all the lubricant oil to drop to the base before we get the measurement. as for the automatic gear oil, i know it need to let the engine warm up first before we take the measurement. correct me if i am wrong....
*
yes you are right...best is too check the engine oil level in the morning before starting the engine....other than that, even you off your engine for few hours, it does take sometime to get accurate results...so best is morning when its cold....never crack the engine yet..... a lot machanics does not know the way of checking it which they normally start the engine to make it run for few seconds, then check.... doh.gif doh.gif

as for the automatic gear oil....warm up the engine, then shift P>R>N>D>3>2>L by pressing the brake then shift all the way back to N and leave it for few seconds and check the level...

dude.... 4L is overfilled. it does no good to your engine other than damaging it in the long term. Its really bad for the rubber oil seals, bad FC and bad for the general internal engine components.

Persona's engine need ONLY 3.7 litres of engine oil (anyone can correct me if im wrong on the exact amount of litres required).
*
yes....3.7liters is the accurate engine oil level needed...even 3.5liters is more than enough as it will be slightly lower frm the max line...

*
the choice is urs...if you still have any problem want to claim, then continue with the service at SC otherwise, you may service at outside.... for me, after 4rd service, i send my car to the machanic i know and buy my own items, just pay the labour which around rm10-15...so far the car everything is allright..

what happen to your old disc.. i saw quite a lot of ppl change the disc.. can u briefly explain ma.. cause i am noob. is that the disc bengkok ah?? scare my persona kena also
*
brake disc plate warp..means uneven..so when you apply brakes on highspeed, steering will vibrate so create discomfort feeling.....to avoid this, dont wash your car or spray water on the brake disc or tire...

vibration/uneven disc brake may cause from brake pads, improper bedding in way, wash your car/spray ur tire with water after drive, drive through a pool of water......mine warp because of cause from bosch power plus brake pads, high speed braking vibrate very much..so get it skimmed and use imp formula, minimal vibration after 20000km usage....still ok..just a bit

car not yet finished?  blink.gif
Been using RON97 today since i feel like filling it in. So far somehow the engine been producing less rough sound and vibration even though during the hot sunny day. In the usual hot day, my engine will sound a little rough and the engine vibration can be felt when under RON95. It is almost like when driving the car during night since my engine usually will sound quieter during night drive. Now will monitor the mileage. If not much difference, i guess i'm going to change back to RON97  hmm.gif
*
what petrol?? i also realize driving during daytime especially hot afternoon the car is more noisy...but not with night, morning time as the car is quieter a lot than driving on the hot noon...

Caltex. But actually i realized something quite alarming today. My car can't produce POWER like it used to be when on RON95  rclxub.gif Was cruising along MEX highway towards cyberjaya, during the uphill slope i realized my car can't produce power even i tried to downshift to 4th gear.... why??  doh.gif  The engine is indeed quiet but.... Well, the mileage monitoring isn't performing well, now tempted to change back to RON95  sad.gif
*
oh yeah...got once i use caltex ron97, quiet but the car sort of heavy to accelerate....now im using RON95 esso and its allright....can go 190km easily...

I had seen many of you guys out there saying that the service interval is 5k and 10k... the booklet says 10k and the bill says 5k... have anyone just don't care what is written on the bill and go for 10k service and yet can get warranty? Pls share with us if whom ever have experience on this.
*
well..the booklet stated 10k is fully-sync that proton recommended to use but as for the receipt it depends on what engine oil you change most of you guys are using semi-sync so, i believe the receipt will automatically print out 5k service interval, but fully-sync the system will print out 10k interval...
just my wild guess....i might be wrong..no offence... icon_rolleyes.gif

Added on March 26, 2010, 6:43 pmOk.. persona can use normal engine oil ka, 20w50?

It is must use semi or full sync?

whats the implication if use the normal one arr.. i think service also 5k ma...SC not cover warranty?  hmm.gif
*
yeap..20w50 can..but will be slight heavy...semi or fully is depends on you...semi normally is enough for normal driving conditions..but if you want better protection, than use full sync as it is lighter and protects the engine better than normal oils. try to go for 10w40 for semi....and 5w40 for fully-sync... normally this oil rating works perfectly and at the same time better FC...
