lulz my ferarris...  laugh.gif

Well, if not mistaken, for manual should cost almost rm400 and auto almost rm500 (due to ATF). As for me, i got a little workmanship fee discount coz i'm their (the sc) member and at that time i got a free oil filter due to sc membership also (free for each 2 services). So mine was around rm340.

Somehow the sc recommend me to do this (which i refused):
1) change fuel filter
2) re-tune the ecu

@fonda: i did mine at bukit serdang sc. After the 20k service, nothing much improvement i guess, just the same.

Anyway, just make sure to save some money around rm600 - 800 for 40k service and rm1,000++ for 80k service  whistling.gif
*
retune the ecu??? for what?? how much that will cost? and another question will be, persona ecu can be re-tuned??? If can, that means ppl can squeeze a little more out of the current old school "Campro" engines rite?

bad news..bad news...i found out that Persona is too risky to be lowered. The gearbox is already low from the ground. If it lowered e more, damaged may cause to the GB if it hit something except you always use a super smooth roads which are rare in Malaysia.
*
its not all that low if compared to 1st gen of gen2 models whereby the automatic gearbox oil sump is at its lowest.

comon... i hv been driving a lowered myvi (sold off) on stock 14 inch wheels for 1 year plus and on 16 inch wheels for another 2 years plus... the engine oil sump and automatic gearbox oil sump is also lower to the ground... just drive sensibly lorr....

so persona's engine and tranny oil sump i see is ok la... not all that alarming if lowered.

Gonna be a Persona owner soon. M-Line MT ...Now waiting the loan to approved only
1st thing when i get the car, gonna do wheel alignment and replace the disc brake pad with don advantage
*
The no.1 thing to "mod" is to replace the stock pads. It really make quite a lot of difference. Im using Trestor Advantage (Blue) really thumbup.gif

Do you guys realize that the gen2 absorber coil spring seat is about half an inch lower than Persona's absorber???

Meaning, if install gen2's absorber into Persona.... the Persona will be slightly lowered.

anyone using those spring power cushion?
*
i dont and i dunno about the rest though. but one word of advice....

please those use those stuffs. it promotes faster wear to the current good condition of the coil springs. basically it fits in between the coils forcing it to be "dead" and therefore forcing the other coils to stiffen up due to the nature and therefore, provides a stiffer ride. this gives the feeling of performance suspension at the expense of the stock coil. it does give a better ground control etc etc.... but well.. u get the picture.

if u want, change to low springs or adjustables la...

Any B line owners fitted original Proton trunk lid liner or custom made liners / padding / sound proof???

I am gonna custom made mine soon... So before that, i just want to have a look at others. Because i asked my local Proton outlet and was quoted that i need to place order to import it from HQ and it will cost RM200.00 which i think is too costly. So alternative comes into place now.

gez, i didnt know B-Line does not comes with those padding things, i'm looking for a plastic boot tray, is there a boot tray that fit nicely for persona? i checked with the SC, only BLM has the boot tray to sell. And also looking for a storage box to put in my boot to store those emergency kit and tool kits.
*
I dun think you get buy Persona's boot tray. But i see some malls and accessory shops selling those universal boot trays in various sizes price ranging from RM20 to RM50.

Personally i just use rubber mat (those tray looking type) and for the box... i use those A4 paper boxes. Works perfect and its free since i got it from my office. tongue.gif

uiks, so cheap? What item they changed for u?
That's normal. It is proton so-called 'advance' feature drive-by-wire  whistling.gif  I do think actually this is caused by proton poor ecu setting which made the gas pedal has a lag of 0.5 - 1 seconds.

Well, as starter, maybe u can change the way u change the gear. Instead of pressing the clutch and releasing the gas pedal at the same time, why dont u try release the gas pedal for 1 - 2 seconds, then engage the clutch.
*
It's a very stupid thing really. My friend's 1st generation gen2 manual also like this. He hates it a lot......

heck, our persona automatic also like this. try press the gas pedal and let go immediately... there is a lag whereby the gas lets go before the rpm goes down....

no more liaw. i replaced new front disc brake under warranty. all good now. coupled with much better brake pads.

All Persona owners should change their brake pads. It really makes a hell lots of difference. It is the first and cheapest upgrade any of you here should do since original brake pad the feel is soft and un-assuring.

The pads i am on is called Trestor Advantage (blue pads) cost RM68. Highly recommended to try. I have very good experience with this pads on my ex myvi with modded honda civic vtec disc brakes.

btw based on my observation i still think Persona's butt really damn kao too high la... Front low and rear butt high. Anyone hv the same opinion / views as me? What can be done to it???

I was thinking of getting a low spring / adjustable / SLIGHTLY modded stock springs but only install it at the rear.

one thing need to ask you all.

why 5k oil change interval rather than 10k oil change interval?

it states clearly in the manual booklet and also the proton website that it is 10k oil service. there is even no indication on specific oils to be used for different oil change intervals!

So if i stick to 10k interval, i am still within the warranty requirements right?

I am not sure about this, but last time I heart from sc that if using full synthetic oil is 10K, others is 5K, if u r not using full synth oil, it might void the warranty.

Recently I went to 227 sc and I have ask the mechanic about the different between full synth , semi synth and normal mineral oil. He told me that actually full synth is for those country that have 4 season like winter. Because if their car parking outside, when they wake up at the morning, the snow might cover up their car, and that's why their need full synth oil for their engine for easy start their car and ,sometime the temperature will down to minus degree and the oil will freeze and if using mineral oil might hard to start the car.

So for our country, it is not recommend to use full synth oil, I am not sure is this true or not. Anyone sifu here can rectify this? unsure.gif
*
oic... yea i heard that too. but the point i wanna bring up here is that, this is what they say to the customer. but the facts stated in the booklet and even the site is 10k regardless what oil since they didn't mention it (type of oil). dun mean to be a hard headed with you guys... but its just something i feel is not right...

last time.. i want to use fully synt but the sc say not recommended cause will have latch problem later... so im still using the semi synt.. but then they pandai2 go and install the magnetrap thingy and say i can service after 10k... so i'll wait for my 20k service and see what happen..

I  understand you, but at the end if you wanna do claim and they got this reason to void your claim, then is hard to argue already.

But proton should write something more specific in the booklet so that everybody can follow it rather than just keep guessing hmm.gif
*
QUOTE(shacxz @ Mar 23 2010, 03:08 PM)
ya.. on the resit shows that i will need to service at 15k.. but my service sticker write 20k+..i'll just see what will happen if reach 20k..
*
See? All double standards. This is what i want to highlight... I bet they (at SC) requires customers to service every 5k to increase their income! And mb throw in magnetrap crap and say ok can reach 10k service already. Wth.

Whereby, black and white is stated in the service booklet every 10k. To double confirm... even the website states so.
