Hey I was wrong! I removed my harddisk to install Ubuntu on SD card to make sure I don't mess anything up and still the palm rest area gets warm! It turns out its not the harddrive causing it but the HSF. Now its get annoying as I can't do anything to eliminate it

Hi everyone, I just got my first laptop (y510p) and I'm really new so please do suggest a suitable cooling pad.

I bought CM A200 (for mobility) but found that it's not cooling enough for serious gaming.

Should I go for the CM X3 or CM U3 next? If I'm looking for the best cooling performance, should I go for the CM Storm SF-19?

i bought a CM X3, when i turn the speed to max. there is a weird sound sometimes. i know it will be loud if i turn it on max. but this sound is different from a fan sound. should i go back and ask for a new one? lol or is it normal

Actually, the best way is elevate the laptop without blocking its air intake vent. Let the laptop fan take action, all external fan cooler only improve ventilation or air intake. Unless modifying internal cooling system, e.g liquid cooling.

Need a recommendation for my Lenovo Y400. The laptop overheats very fast and FPS will drop after 20-30 minutes of gaming.

I put my laptop on gaming mode, so it runs hotter than normal. The laptop is about 18 months old so I'm not sure if I need to repaste it.
