hey does anyone know if the uni is working to aflliate with more partner medical schools apart from the three on the website?

As of now the Med Schools that can be transferred to through the Medical Degree Transfer Programme are.

TUC is of course working to increase the number of their partner universities though right now I would think their main concern is the development of their own MBBS programme which is still pending approval and Prepare for the opening of their School of Pharmacy in partnership with Cardiff University.

i'm planning to start foundation in business but it's already pass the intake. is it possible if i join the july intake now? or do i have to wait till next january?

or if i start the diploma in business course, which is 2.5 years, after that if i move on to degree i must take another 3 more years? or do i get to advance like maybe a year or two?

Its too late to join the foundation now.
If take diploma then can advance to year2 degree.

It's already far too late to the Foundation in Business the latest is two weeks after the intake started and now it has way passed that. If you want to join TBF you would have to wait until next January.

So I would recommend you to just join the Diploma in Business programme's August intake and you better be fast for that as some time has already passed since they started on the 9th of August with the latest cut being two weeks after that date. If you were to go through DIB you don't have to spend 3 years for the Degree. DIB graduates will get 1 year worth of exemptions in the Degree programme so you would only have to spend 2 years in Degree after Diploma.

How long will the orientation for Accounting&Finance last? Hopefully not 1 week..?

How bout dress code?
Casual during class, formal during presentations?

Most orientation last between three days to one week I'm not sure how long your orientation is gonna last ^^" Usually I see Degree programme orientations go for 3 days.

For dress code as long as you adhere to the Taylor's Dress code eg. no mini skirts,shorts,spaghetti strap,slippers and you know the drill you wear casual to class. If I'm not mistaken UWE students have to wear formal every Monday and of course when you have presentations ^^

hmm anyone knows how long orientation day for APD program would take on thursday and friday ?

ex-Taylors PJ campus student used to study Foundation in Computing...

Yeap UWE's students have to dress in formal attire every monday if they have classes to attend on that day...

randomly, this rule started because apparently accounting firms complained that uwe students did not know how to dress formally... ^^;;; luckily I only had to endure it for one year XD i think?

Luckily it's only on Monday and not everyday.

By the way, things like book list and academic calendar will be provided during orientation right?

Haha just monday is already a pain in the butt~ I had a friend who forgot it was monday came out of her house and was on the way to uni then she realised oh crap today is monday!!! she had to turn around and go back to change clothes XD did not help that we didn't live in subang/PJ but in KL! and oh yea the formal shoes kill >.< I used to keep sandals in my car XD wore it if I had no class aka lunch time or in between classes (2/4hrs break) XD

Yeap, it will be provided during orientation, if it isn't you can just hop over to the rpogramme office and ask for it~ usually you don't have to ask though because they will have it printed and ready in a tray/rack for students to just enter and take what they need.

Edit: Actually~ the above only holds true for the academic calendar~ your booklist should be together with the offer letter you received and signed for the first year... otherwise the lecturer would inform you what as to what books you may need... but according to experience you only need some textbooks not all... for year one I used probably only my GBC, MOB, IMA(uh the drury textbook is used for 3 years (IMA-->MA-->AMA) so it's a good buy, IFA... BITM you don't need to buy it on your own accord, usually ms leow (if she is still teaching) will have a pool of students who wanna sell their textbook second/third hand at a cheap price... but I don't really recall using the textbook...(may have changed over the years though) as for the remaining subject BSDM you may need a couple of pages here and there but I am sure you can photostat that from the library no need for a textbook~

Can't help you with the hostel XD graduated from TBS before they moved to the LSC~

I received my offer letter today but they didn't provide a copy of booklist even though on the letter it stated that a copy of booklist and academic calendar is provided together, but i receive nothing! lol

Oups? LOL anyway don't need to worry about the booklist just yet~ have fun during orientation... and wait for the lecturers to inform you what books they want you to have before purchasing anything~ I used to study with just the lecture notes, tutorials and past exam papers... As for textbooks lets just say I do regret getting some of them XD never flipped them over the year and are STILL brand new till today as they lie in their boxes~ the only 3 books I remember using alot are Arnold for corporate finance in year 2 and financial management year 3, the Tax and tax planning textbook in year 2 (was really expensive like rm230 a copy!) and my law textbooks in year 2. Used Drury moderately~ on rare occasions used the FA/CRTP textbook (don't think I should have bought this one~ although I guess it was useful for the final exams in section B essay writing)

i wonder any stpm dudes here? i think im only one and im so old >_> waited local for nothing, so sad all my fren is in except me i need pay a lot for taylors now .....

They will provide you with the academic calender during orientation. Usually the book list comes during orientation as well. Though for books the safest thing is to actually wait until classes start and ask your lecturer does she/he uses the books or what book do they prefer as some lecturers might not follow the booklist and use other books that they prefer or some might not even use books so there might not be a need to buy some.

The Lakeside Accommodation was fully booked for males when last checked during the July orientation and only a small amount of rooms for females left. I'd assume they are all fully booked by now ^^"
Alternatively if you can't find a room around the area you can always live in SS15 Subang near Taylor's College and take the free shuttle bus everyday to and from TUC =)

Taking shuttle bus everyday is pretty much a hassle, I would like to stay nearby where I can reach campus within walking distance.

They should've receive a few rooms for late intakes like October intake, lol. I just have to try my luck finding a single room around the housing area.
