Back in Sri Hartamas you were taking Pre-U right? They have this 30% discount for developing town so your town might be 1 of them.

Yes I was from Pre-U CAL, going to do a degree now. Really? I've never heard of that from anyone. I will double check on Monday.

Hi, Im from Tourism degree, 2nd year guy. Nice to meet u all or we all taylorians. With the newly born Lakeside campus, its too beautiful, I feel like owning Taylors so much. Whr Taylors gave the best for all students. Although thr r issues about few things, such as the expensiveness of facilities like shuttle, parking, food, n.. but I believe its goin better onwards. Hoorey Taylors!! A University to show off to the world from little Malaysia.

Nobody is exempted from ETP no matter if you have IELTS,MUET,TOEFL etc.
hum the English Placement Test is just used to separate you guys into Tutorial Groups. They will put the people with the same level of English together in a class so that they can have a bit different approach than people who are already really proficient in English.

Hey nice to meet you =)
Though what do you mean by expensiveness of shuttle and parking? Shuttle bus is free and parking well there's no price confirmed for that yet ^^
Discussions are still ongoing.

@Hikari,

I was just informed yesterday about the EPT. Seems like I was chosen, and most people are exempted. Not sure how they get the exemption, but it seems like if you have IELTS, you are exempted. This is for the School of Computing.

It seems like this EPT is a big deal for degree holders, because if we don't get band 6.1, we will need to take 12 hours a week of English class, and that makes us only able to take one RMIT subject/course. It also means that it might increase the duration for us to graduate =/.

oh that's a different EPT than the one I thought. That one is for those who did not qualify the English Language Requirements of the programme.Your in Taylor's RMIT right? You need to get a band 6.5 equivalent to IELTS to satisfy English language requirements. Do you have a credit in your SPM 1119 GCE-O English grade? I saw in the RMIT website before that they accept that as an IELTS equivalent. Though I don't know if the stuff they accept as an IELTS equivalent can be used through TUC as well.Got to check with your Divisional Office since they only list these out

IELTS
Overall score of 6.5
TOEFL
Overall score of 600 (paper based); Overall score of 250 (computer-based)
Taylor's Foundation in Computing
60% in Technical English 1 and Technical English 2

Go to one of the computer labs first, then use your Student ID as User name and your IC if your Malaysian or Passport if your an International Student as password to log into the computer, once you do that you will be prompted to change your Password. Once you have done so only will you be able to log into the student portal using your student ID and the new password that you have set ^^

hum not anymore. After last semester,I'm no longer a student ^^ though technically since I haven't submitted my clearance form I'm still a student. Just spend a short while and going to Aussie next February, going to find some work or internships in the mean time or concentrate on my Japanese classes in between =D.If your already in the 6th sem I doubt I know you ^^" I know mostly first years and a few groups of second year students hum I'm not aware if I know anybody in the third year even if I think should be a 5th sem student.

You need them for?
Well Admissions won't have programme specific academic calenders. Students only get those during orientation or going and ask for it at their respective divisional offices or on the student portal if the divisional office staff uploads it.

lol didn't your brother get it during orientation?
Ask your brother to go to his Student Portal then go to the heading Programme. Usually they upload the academic calender there. Though the one for 2011 might still not be there since they usually only prepare that calender at the end of the year.
The best bet is still to go to the Divisional Office and ask the staff there. Got to try and make him talk to people, Taylor's staff are helpful and nice most of the times =D

Though if he still can't then, probably you can try this.
Try and email the Associate Dean, Ms Den Shu Chien shuchien.den@taylors.edu.my and ask her since I don't know any admin staff who's in charge of FIS ^^"
