Well Universities like Monash needs to adhere to the standards of their campuses in Australia therefore the higher entry requirements. Australian Universities set their entry requirements based on demand and also the overall performance of year 12 students every year.

Agreed. The Monash at here is only a campus, their main "boss" is at Australia tongue.gif

Question here please:

Thinking of the Taylor’s Bachelor of Science (Hons) (Architecture).

Which Aussie and UK universities recognises this degree as an entry for their masters in Architecture?

Thanks in advance

In the partnerships it mentions

QUOTE
These strategic partnerships have cemented Taylor’s edge in providing world-class foundation, diploma and degree programmes. The committed and careful implementation of these programmes to the respective guidelines given by each partner university ensures that students receive qualifications that are internationally recognised and accepted globally.

School of Architecture, Building and Design
[ + ] The University of Melbourne, Australia

[ + ] Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia

Howver, does the partnership mean recognition for entry to the masters program?

This is because on the partner universities mentioned, the entry requirements for the masters program do
not explicitly that Taylors is acceptable.....
only a general statement in the bold.

From U of Melbourne website

QUOTE
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
200 point program
1. The Selection Committee will evaluate the applicant's ability to pursue the course successfully using the following criteria

completion of the Bachelor of Planning and Design (Architecture) or Bachelor of Architectural Studies at the University of Melbourne between 2005 and 2010; and

completion of at least 16 weeks of documented relevant full-time professional work experience;
or

an undergraduate degree with a major in architecture or architectural studies with a weighted average of at least 65% in the final two years, or equivalent, together with a personal statement of up to 1000 words outlining relevant prior study and work experience, and motivation to undertake the course, and a design portfolio in a format as specified by the Selection Committee.

2. The Selection Committee may conduct interviews or tests and may call for referee reports and employer references to elucidate any of the matters referred to above.

Note: It is highly recommended that students obtain at least 16 weeks of documented relevant full-time professional work experience, before commencing the final 100 points of the degree.

Guaranteed Pathways into Master of Architecture for BEnv Graduates (available for masters entry from 2011 to 2014)
1. BEnv graduates with a major in Architecture and a weighted average of at least 70% in their final two years will be guaranteed a fee place in the 200-point Master of Architecture.

2. BEnv graduates with a major in Architecture and a weighted average of at least 75% in their final two years, and who are eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place, will be guaranteed a Commonwealth Supported Place in the 200-point Master of Architecture.

Guaranteed Transfer into Commonwealth Supported Place
Students with a fee place in the 200-point Master of Architecture who complete 100 points of the course with a weighted average of at least 75%, and who are eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place, will be guaranteed a transfer to a Commonwealth Supported Place for the final 100 points of the course.

*Design Portfolio Requirements
The design portfolio of not more than eight A3 pages should focus on design work rather than, for example, life or still-life drawing skills. Portfolios should be drawn at least partly from the design studio subject the applicant has completed. Applicants submitting work done in the context of employment should explain their role in the work produced with brief notes. Images and drawings presented in the portfolio should be reproduced at sufficient scale and resolution to be clearly readable. Elaborate formats that reduce the available page space for the design images should be avoided. It is most helpful to see a variety of kinds of drawings and images: two-dimensional (plans, sections, elevations) and three-dimensional studies, photographs of physical models, etc.

I think it's case to case basis...and almost entirely depends on your final results and financial capabilities...

I have friends who have graduated from the programme and is now doing Masters at UK...

Dont understand case to case....my question is whether Taylor's degree in Architecture is
accepted by Uni of Melbourne as a prequisite for their Masters program irrespective of the
results and financial capabilities

Which uni in UK accepts the degree? Did he continue in the Masters program straight after his Taylor's degree?

Thanks

Further research into the Taylors website does not explicitly mentions that.
If anything it mentions that the DIPLOMA program is moderated
by the U of Melbourne, nothing about the degree.

QUOTE
World-Class Academic Partner As our academic partner, The University of Melbourne provides moderation and quality assurance for the diploma programmes, through its Faculty of Architecture Building and Planning.

The high educational standards at Taylor’s have been acknowledged by the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning at The University of Melbourne.
“It should be pointed out that the overall programmes run by the School in Architectural Technology and Quantity Surveying are well structured...”
- Professor Dr. Philip Goad, Deputy Dean and Associate Dean

“The program benefits from committed staff who challenge and enthuse students to achieve good academic outcomes.”
- Ms. Clare Newton, FRAIA, Senior Lecturer

“The overall impression is of a good school with dedicated and talented staff who are genuinely interested in their subject material and committed to achieving quality student outcomes.”

Taylor's doesn't have a 3+0 twinning LLB. Last I checked they just have a 2+1 programme and also their own LLB.
Anyhow nobody here will be able to answer you. Any Diplomas moreover a Diploma in Business will only be handled on a case-by-case basis, an approval from the Taylor's Law School's Programme Director/Deputy Dean/Dean etc. is needed before you can enrol in the Taylor's LLB programme while to enrol in the 2+1 twinning programme Taylor's would need to send information on your Diploma and your results to the University of Reading in the UK before any decision can be made.

I'm not very familiar with Canada's education system so I can't say much on it. Probably they require you to have at least 12 years of formal education before you can enter their Degree programmes directly while we can enter some US universities directly with SPM + SAT so with that in mind ADP being equivalent to a US degree accepts students with just SPM.
If your planning to go to Aussie TBF is well accepted. I know a friend who continued their Degree in Aussie after TBF, he applied to most of the Go8 unis except Melbourne and Sydney and got offers from all of them recognizes TBF and he also applied to all the 5 ATN unis and only University of Technology Sydney seems to not recognize TBF.
From the conditional offers he has that I've seen some of the requirements are
Uni of Adelaide - Weighted Average Marks (WAM) 70
Monash Uni (Bachelor of Business & Commerce course) - WAM 65
University of Queensland - WAM 65
University of Western Australia - WAM 65
Curtin University - WAM 60
University of Tasmania - WAM 60

These requirements are not hard to meet lol ^^"
Also yeah like I said through the UniSA programme you can credit transfers to other Universities in Aussie after your first year. Taylor's has articulation agreements for their UniSA programme to transfer to UQ, RMIT, UTS and UWA. This agreements make it easier for the assessment of credits as it is already  agreed on paper which units is equivalent to which unit while you can also credit transfer to other Aussie unis though others would ask for details of the course structure and syllabus for them to assets to see if the units you took in Taylor's is equivalent to theirs so make sure to keep the copy of syllabus and structure if the lecturer post it on your first day of classes for the subjects or if not you could also request from the divisional office later of when you are trying to credit transfer.

hello. as far as i know, once you transfer to UNSW, you will be subject to their fee schedule. and if I'm not mistaken, you will get certificates from both universities. i may be wrong though. best is to call taylor's for clarification and better understanding smile.gif

You will pay UNSW fees regardless of what you were paying in Taylor's.

your wrong on that one, once you transfer to UNSW, you have nothing to do with Taylor's anymore besides being an alumni. You'll only get a Degree from UNSW.
