I don't know about you guys but the business school has been experiencing some problem lately with the system.
My sister still can't pay her fees cause the system is having a lot of errors, thee fee listed in her portal is not correct, her study grant amount wasn't deducted, she was charged for taking twice the number of the subjects she enrolled in etc.
Seems when she and a few  others went to ask the divisional office to ask it seems Taylor's is "upgrading" their systems and all of them are not in sync with each other and the IT department is trying to fix it and that's been going on since two or three weeks ago and she had to go a few times to uni to straighten some things out with subject registration and such ^^"

You could go take the matter up with your divisional office or your dean and inform the student council.

Thanks for your helpful response Hikari, I will make an inquiry about it and hopefully everything will turn out fine.

Regards.

Usually credits are only awarded for A-Levels,STPM and the International Baccalaureate Diploma as far as I know. Not sure about SAM, you should call up Taylor's and ask.
Or you can email usdegree@taylors.edu.my to ask.

Basically speaking
a twinning programme is when a programme is offered by partnership together with another University, in which case Taylor's used to have a twining programme with the University of Shieffield, UK. Basically since one start the programme one is a student of both Universities and when one graduates one will get a degree from the partner university and can transfer about anytime.

a transfer programme however means lets say you join a transfer programme in Taylor's. You are only a Taylor's student and whether you can trasnfer to another University depends on your results etc. and usually in a transfer programme you must transfer somewhere as you can't get a degree from it. In a twinning programme you can transfer anytime and your results doesn't really matter in going to the partner university as you are already their student.

As for Taylor's case now it is not a twinning programme anymore and it's also not a transfer programme. The current Engineering programme is a full Bachelor of Engineering awarded by Taylor's University themselves. But Taylor's have maintained strong connections with their partner and also form articulation ageements with other Universities as well therefore they have articulation agreements that will allow you to transfer to other Universities in the UK or Australia after doing some time in Taylor's and also if you meet their requirements you can credit transfer with less problems and procedures.

Here's a list of Universities you can transfer to and the results you need.
United Kingdom
- University of Bath
- University of Birmingham
- University of Portsmouth
- University of Sheffield
- University of Warwick

Australia
- Australian National University
- University of Western Australia

Hey everyone.

I'm quite in a dilemma now. I've already registered and enrolled (paid) for UniSA CMM program. What i'm really confused is, during the campus day (the same day i registered), the guy who entertained me and help me with all the application forms and stuff, told me that i am exempted for the first year and that i can go straight to the second year. (I already got a diploma from another college)

And on the day i go pay my fees, the lady said i'm starting from the first year. I told her my situation and she just told me to go talk to the division officer during the orientation.

A friend of mine who studied the same thing in college, who also registered, was told by the dean that she can go straight to the 3rd year! So, i'm confused and worried.

Should i be? What should i do? I don't want to waste extra years there! icon_question.gif

Got a question here.... After doing some thinking, I'll most likely want to enroll for Bachelor of Applied Finance in UniSA.. If I take accounting subjects as my elective... Can I get exemption for ACCA papers?

huh straight into 3rd year? Your sure on that? UniSA has a maximum amount credits you can transfer and that is usually a maximum worth of 1 year for people from Diploma. The dean said that? That's weird she usually won't say confirmly on how much credits one can get since Taylor's have no power in deciding exemptions for UniSA programmes, they have to send all the neccesary documents over to UniSA and wait for them to decide.

Yes if you form a major in Accounting through all your electives you might even get the maximum 9 paper exemptions.

oh yeah guys btw, I just got to Aussie and with the small internet quota and limited time I have where I'm currently at, I won't be coming on to check much so google around and go to the Taylor's website for info, they got a lot of answers to usually asked questions there just you need to explore a bit or call Taylor's if you don't know ^^"

Yea, my friend told me that. sad.gif

Do u think i can settle this during the orientation or do u advise otherwise? There's still chances that i can get exempted from certain subjects? But will it take time for them to get approval from UniSA?

Well, I need a lil' bit help here. I am interested in Mathematics and Physics, any idea what kind of job or career suits me ?

I know this is off topic but i hope someone can help me out. Your help is MUCH appreciated. Thank you.

Hey Leoric012

There are a few jobs that come to mind almost immediately. You can study actuarial science, which requires you to be grounded in Mathematics, Specialist/Further mathematics, and physics. Apart from that, you can also consider a degree in engineering which would require you to do another science subject (on top of physics) – chemistry.

Is it recommended for someone who knows really basic of the basics of computer to take Computing in A-levels ?

Hi Leoric. It’s ok to take computing at A Levels even if you do not have any prior knowledge. Teachers at pre-u level will teach you the basics of computing and then build on that. Come talk to us at our campus or visit our fan page on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Taylors-Pre-U/114584115247149!

Hi, I am new here. I would like to ask something regarding the subject offered by CAL. Must Further Mathematics be taken as 4th subject? Intially, I was planning to take Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics, 3 subjects. However, I browsed through the website and saw that statement. I am worried that if I were to take 4 subjects, I will not be able to perform very well in all four of the subjects. Therefore, I am here to seek any opinion, suggestion or advice. Thanks in advance.  biggrin.gif
*
Hi, you can do 3 subjects, without needing a fourth subjects. We generally advise students to take up a fourth subject, as for more competitive courses where places are limited, universities sometimes do look at if the student did a fourth subject and their grade for it.

We can do any subject combination right ? For example, Maths, Physics, Psychology and Further Maths.
*
This would depend on the availability of subject combinations at the time you register. For March intake, there will be more limited subject combinations as compared to January intake

The best thing is to settle it before orientation since this kind of things takes time and if you wait until orientation getting into the right classes and subjects is gonna be a problem. Usually if UniSA has made their decision on exemption, you won't be getting anymore. Go to Taylor's Division office of Business and Law and try asking
