At least u know u will be gettin ur lappy this monday. I am using the G73 currently, got sum bugs must iron out 1st. But performance wise is really nice. Next week M15X coming edi hope can do a comparison. Then mebe selling one off.

I itchy go update to ATI CAT 10.5 so got gsod. If use back old driver no prob. Ori driver is 9.12 or 9.13 only to get higher score I itchy itchy update driver. Btw I even update my bios to 209 edi. So far so good, duno when can update vbios then perfect edi. I reli like the sound system very loud.

ur neighbour using it ? Then fast fast review it b4 purchase. I also find it's damn big, sumtimes quite a big hassle to bring along. . But when running benchmark really satisfy. Now waiting for M15X to arrive compare both to see which is better.

Hope I get the M15X this week then can do a small comparison. So far I quite like the G73JH just the size is a prob, but compare the spec, hdd, ram, nothing can come near it with the price point. Even M17X also don't have 4 ram slot, but can xfire or sli. Btw I turn off swap file, it seems turning off the respond is even better maybe due to so much ram, swapping to hdd makes the system slower. Btw the unit I got has 1333 ram instead of the 1066 some claim.

I got the ori Asus R.O.G. Mouse. Not the Razer Abyssus mouse. Bag is the same.



The hdd the one with OS is partitioned 120GB for OS then 380GB for Data, then 2nd hdd is half half which is 250gb, 250gb. There's no recovery discs must ownself create, around 6 dvd needed. Driver disc is included, got a logitech 25% discount coupon as well. And sum manuals, and also dun forget Asus Strap.
Dunno how much can fetch if I sell this off ? Just in case I wanna keep the M15X.

Mostly it will be waiting for u at the post office if using USPS. I even receive my letter from Pos Malaysia about the item in customs after 2 days. I got the item the same day I receive the call.

Actually I wanna add in, sometimes when I type my hands especially my palm will brush the touchpad, and usually make the cursor move to another spot making whateva I type go out of way. The touchpad is too big.
I do remember there's a software to disable the touchpad. I am barely using it coz I am using a wireless mouse.

Nice software. Btw, i think this lappy got throttling when max overclock and enable turbo in bios. Performance didn't increase if I on the turbo in bios with the core 775 and mem 1125. If I off the turbo in bios straight 3dmark06 score hit 13k if enable turbo 3dmark06 drop to 12.5k.

Maybe the bios enable overclock in buggy ?

So only way to overclock is using setfsb ? I just dun type so much to avoid the cursor flying around. For me I really would prefer a smaller touchpad.

So far tried Core 780 Memory 1120 get best score. I think my memory max is 1125 maybe needs some burning in to hit 1200.

I see so 10.4 is better ? I found the reason of GSOD already seem to plague desktop 5770 and 5870 as well. I only got 10.3 and 10.5. Skip 10.4. So I will try to find it then try out.

Added on June 2, 2010, 11:55 amActually it's like having a new sports car, we will try to tune it to the max, either for fuel consumption or max power. I even tried to flash the vbios but I found using amd gpu clock tool serve the same purpose so I used it instead. Clocking core 300 and memory 500 lowers the gpu temp to around 55 from 63.

So u never had any gsod or bsod or psod ? I kinda regret touching the stock os, should have installed a new clean os with other drivers to test it out. I found the 10.4 so will give it a go. . I encounter gsod only during many hours of dirt 2. But also my hand itchy go overclock maybe if I didn't overclock nothing will happen.

I see, earlier b4 upgrading to cat 10.5 I play grid no prob then itchy itchy upgrade to 10.5 to play dirt 2 start gettin gsod edi. Everything can use just screen can't see anything. But I tot can blind restart but dun work. Some say gsod takes very long coz the system trying to dump memory to hardisk 8gb of ram duno need how long. Got rumours say it is caused by memory chips overheating Usually I hard off then on. Very painfull

Anyway alot of rumours bout it using the Nvidia 480 but the clock and mem is too low to convince anything. At least the 5870m altho based on 5770 still manage to deliver good result.

Well if the assumptions online is true mostly the specs are same just add on usb 3.0, then GTX 480. Unless they whack in SLI or Xfire

Hmmmm, there's no other person in charge there to entertain u ? When I went to local customs the assistant head said I don't really need to pay the RM 18 declare form as it's a laptop. Even mention why simply listen to those pos laju ppl saying need to pay rm 18. Anyway I just want to get my laptop asap out of there but I think it took around 2 hours+.

Hope u can find the correct people to help u sort ur trouble. Else u might need to talk to the Malaysian embassy to help u sort it out. 19% is damn lot.

Added on June 5, 2010, 12:03 pmMake sure U back up the system 1st by creating the 6 DVD. Just in case u need to restore to stock. Alot suggest to upgrade bios via the bios menu there and load the file into a flashdrive. IF can make sure ur flash drive is reliable and fresh format. Have fun with ur new toy or babe.

USD 15 for the recovery disc right ? And only cost me like 0.9 each sumore sony brand dvd-r . Well I installed a clean os on the other drive and dual boot. One os is the original and another is the new one. I still haven't activate yet. I believe u can activate it with the COA below ur lappy as the original os which comes with the os uses different serial no. I think it's not yet activated yet.

Anyway I sold off my lappy to a friend as he really liked it. So maybe I will be using the M15X for a while, sad news tho, coz of public holiday M15X cannot get yet, only tomorrow.

Anyway the G73JH is a very good lappy, I definitely will buy another unit

Actually getting our Malaysian Embassy to help us is their job, I don't think it would be a trouble, it might make those germans work faster too. The M15X arrived on saturday but since it's a holiday here, Had to wait for them to deliver. I tot can collect early morning but their driver edi sent out 8:15am.

So had to wait then. Well, the G73JH was sold coz my friend had to go overseas and once he saw my laptop he straight fall in love then check online mostly had to wait few weeks to months to get so he took mine instead. Funny thing tho, after restoring to factory mine never had gsod, he even tried crisis and everything is very smooth sumore on 1920X1080. He keeps on saying it's even faster than his desktop.
Actually I'm kinda itchy to test out 480 but so far haven't hear any good news bout it. Maybe will move to desktop 480 GTX.

Got the M15X around 1pm waited since morning 8am. Fedex is very fast as they delivered it on time. If not coz of saturday public holiday I think edi got it. Everything in order and I think the size also nice. But the screen and sound I still prefer G73JH.

Sager / Clevo can preorder edi, but starting around 2.2K usd. I don't think I dare to consider it yet sumore some say it's buggy. Like the 5870m sum get lucky no gsod sum unlucky. I solved it tho but must use factory drivers. If use latest 10.5 I get gsod.

Compare size M15X reli nice not too big not too small. Temps wise quite ok maybe it's still new. Since got back sum money I will be waiting for new offering from nvidia or ati. Who knows, if my friends find the M15X nice as well I might be hunting for sager then. 480 SLI, Raid, 17" with numpad. Bout numpad I still miss it coz M15X don't have it.
