I haven't got the time to fully test the new drivers out but I already see significant performance improvements in some of the games I am playing. I will test Star Craft 2 in 12 hours time and post back my findings here
or maybe they feel it's not necessary to reply back ..price gap so wide difference ..wonder if any1 will get from them
Actually peeps from Asus did comment bout this, their answer is that their warranty for their own local unit is better so called vip service. My unit got worldwide international warranty. And last I heard it's at Ipoh now. I am still tempted in getting back the G73JH but since the M15X is serving me well I am spendin most of my time tweaking my desktop. Been bz with work till no time to check on u guys, coz of sc 2 I bzbody check on lyn.

Hello there . . . long time didn't saw your post since you sold your G73Jh. How are you doing? Any new gadgets?
Hello guys, I just put myself in a difficult situation here as my newly bought cleaning compound - CyberClean was stuck inside the speaker grill when I tried to clean it up. Darn . . .

Is that some gel like compound? Sorry to see that. The only way I can think of removing that is to disassemble the unit and try to clean the speaker section. You need the proper tools, the PDF version of the G73JH disassembly guide, the video below and heck a lot of guts to attempt this
Use the PDF to give you an overview on what to expect but do not follow it as the guide does not show you all the information and you might break some clips along the way. The video from BTO Tech is much better and guides you properly to disassemble your unit. I would use both resources if I were to attempt to disassemble my unit.
I lost the link to the PDF file but you can view it here:

PM me if you want the offline PDF file and I will mail it to you
Yea, it is the gel like compound. For the time being, I do not plan to disassemble it as I personally think that it's kinda difficult especially me who is stubborn.

The entry price will be right around 1500$ for the top of the line model with all the bells and whistles. Bestbuys version with lower specs and all the goodies taken out will start at 1100$. It may be possible that asus will offer an option for widi (wireless hdmi) model g53jw. We will have more information in august. This will launch for sale in september 2010
Now, what is left is the price tag. Since they didn't reveal any 3D, i could consider between G53jx or G73jh. Depending on the package content too.

Hello everyone, i plan to buy ROG G73JH-A2 from GenTech Computers but sadly they don't have any stock of that laptop at this moment. I don't know how long to wait. Another way to get this machine fast is customize the A1 into 'no blue ray' and it save me $96. Is it ok to let GenTech technician to 'operate' the machine by exchange the blue ray drive with DVD DL Drive or I place the pre-order A2 first and wait?

One LYN member (satchi) received an A1 unit but he ordered an A2. They replaced the drive lens from the Blu-Ray to the standard DVD. You will see the Blu-Ray logo on the bezel because they will not remove the entire drive unit just to perform the replacement. If you need more information you can PM the mentioned LYN member

The people at Gentech are experienced and have capable technicians so don't worry. You must be new purchasing things from USA because I'm guessing you haven't been to NBR forums yet (Note Book Reviews). Brand new G73JH (any variants) fresh off the production lines have problems. I was very worried when I purchased my unit because of the GSOD issues due to a batch of faulty ATI GPU cards and poor workmanship from the factory in applying the thermal solution for the GPUs.
There are users who faced GPU problems like overheating and refused to send their units for RMA to ASUS because some people faced the same problems or even worse after getting their units back from ASUS. In the end most of them D.I.Y the thermal solution or for some who bought from GentechPC sent the unit back to them to re-apply the thermal paste for the GPU and that solved their problems.
I'm very fortunate because my unit is almost perfect except for a micro dot dead pixel in my LCD at the bottom left (Thank God) and it's not noticeable unless you are staring at it from 5 cm away on a white background
PS: If you are ordering from GentechPC, get Ken Lee as your sales rep and mention my name (Mark Lee) and Jeffrey. He will take good care of your unit and any modifications you need done

It sounds OK for me. Just like Viperion has said at the previous posts, you do not have to worry so much as IMHO all the technicians at GenTechPC are pro enough for this kind of task. Just make sure that you order it from Ken Lee, he will sort it out for you definitely. All the best. Just PM us if you have any Q.
After some financial difficulties last month i'm only able to buy ROG G73JH-A2 from Gentech yesterday. I pay using paypal and paypal chose eCheck to pay Gentech. Stupid mistake because I forgot to confirmed my credit card.
Now need to wait until 3 August for the eCheck to be cleared.

Congratulation on your newly ordered Asus G73Jh notebook and welcome to this new family too . . .
