GentechPC will never call you. All transactions are done by email unless you want to call them yourself. Did Ken send you the necessary information for the wire transfer & the amount to be paid? You should get it latest one day after placing the order online through their system although I got all the relevant information for my unit with 10 minutes  tongue.gif It really depends on when you made the order and the time following PST.
*
Yeap he did.. was just wondering, because in the email they said they will call to confirm.. 2moro morning im gonna wait at the banks door until they open... kekeke..

my friend recently did wire transfer, he recommended maybank for TT..

Maybank had the best TT currency exchange rate compared to all the other banks in my area. Their service charge is also lower and it took them 2 business days to get the funds over to Gentech's account so I would recommend them too. I got a free KFC voucher to boot but I think I was lucky that day or the teller (lady) really liked me, LOL! tongue.gif

True, it will be a thrill if you could procure it at the airport due to instant gratification but here are some things to consider:

1.) The box is huge & heavy. It's no cakewalk to carry around, trust me. You will have to unpack it at the shop and immediately use your new ROG backpack to store the unit to make it easier for yourself to transport it, no fun if you have a lot of other luggage.

2.) Not sure which airport you will be at but aren't airports retail shops one of the most expensive places to shop. The rental alone for a retail outlet is a killer and the cost is passed down to the customers. Feel like bearing your throat to be garroted? tongue.gif

I've been an online shopper for many years and although I get extremely anxious and wary of the problems you will face, this experience so far is the best I've had. The wait time was not excruciating, it was easy to purchase and make payments and the service was impeccable biggrin.gif

1) I always travel light..so no problem there...

2) I have to agree on the rental cost....but from my experience, buying electronics from the airport is slightly if not cheaper than buying elsewhere...but maybe that is because it's tax free...hmmmmmm

3) yups..the wait, makes it MORE interesting...BUT if there is an alternative which doesn't involve waiting...I'll definitely take it..hehehehe

Yeah, I faced the same problem. The lady did not take the swift code and the bank manager called me later for the code. My advice is to speak to the manager and inform him about the Swift code or your payment might be delayed. Congratulations and let's hope your unit arrives fast biggrin.gif

Hi,

I have been reading this thread and Alienware thread and I decided to get this laptop.
I have contacted Ken Lee from Gentechpc. Hope everything fine. Anybody using paypal to pay because it's easier for me compared to TT?

I used PayPal but you must have a valid US address and GenTechPC do not accep PayPal for international transaction. IMHO, it is advisable for you to use TT as it is easier. Believe me! brows.gif

I'm currently studying at Germany. laugh.gif If you insist on using PayPal, I can give you the e-mail of Ken Lee from GenTechPC. You just have to mention my name and ask him to allow you to use PayPal brows.gif . Explain to him your situation now that you are studying at UK.
