Opening demo account is free.. just need to register, download and install MT4.

Mind you trading is not as easy as one might think. That is the myth that many has fall into ending up losing their money. The thing with trading is that everyone can win some trades earlier purely out of chance, but very few profit consistently. If I go read some books on how to be a brain surgeon would you trust me to do brain surgery on you? Most probably not. But in trading, a beginner could successfully profit after the first few trades without learning about the markets. That is the trap.. And another thing, trading with real money is a totally different compared with demo account. Demo is good to learn the platform, but its like playing video game compared to the real thing. Trading with real account you feel the greed and fear of trading.. But overall, if you like to follow world affairs and dont mind reading charts.. i recommend trading to anyone..

Depends on what type of trader you are.. do u like scalping on the 5 minute chart? scalpers need to be good in technical analysis.. trading on the 4 hour and daily charts require more awareness of fundamental analysis. But most good traders use both fundamental and technical analysis.. u dont need to learn complex keynesian economics stuff; u just need to understand what their talking about.. its like a secret language that traders and economics understand. For example "quantitative easing" is code word for increasing the money supply.

Depends on your preference, I prefer choosing regulated broker e.g. IBFX

I don't understand why you said fxcm charge 0.10 pre trade as I know their charge come frm spread... unless you're talking about their mobile platform for fxcm micro then yes they will charge 0.10 per trade for micro acc.

http://www.fxcm.co.uk/fxcm-mobile-forex.jsp#mobileInfo

adraxx, as bulkbiz said it's all depend on your preference and better go for regulated brokers
NFA (US) : Alpari, FXCM, GFT, IBFX, Oanda etc
FSA (UK) : Alpari, FXCM, GFT, FXPro etc
I think it's your homework to try out the broker's demo acc to see whether it suit you or not... icon_idea.gif

For me, I'm using FXCM UK because their platform easy to use, acceptable spread, regulated and I can deposit money into my acc using my Maybank Debit Card....
I know ppl are saying FXCM platform hv bugs, slippage etc... it's their opinion and I respect that.

stock got this FIFO thing apply on them. By the time U want to execute your position it is already too late.

We as forex have this luxury where we can get in and out instantly. Some traders for example, myself I take like only 1-2 trades per day aiming for 10-20pips average or hold it for "homerun" as a swing trade if I see my trade looks promising. All these can be done within 1-2hours. I am just exploiting the S/R levels, because base on experience 80% of the time the market bounce at least 5-20pips away from S/R level. That is easily allow any of us to move SL to BE and ride for a free trade to whatever pips we think we want to TP. If the trade are not going well and hitting my SL, I lose nothing. tongue.gif

Free trade is a good position no matter if it against the trend or follow the trend. It can be also be convert into swing trade easily without any risk tongue.gif
