Would anyone u know is coming back from Thailand by this week or next week? I'd like to order some boxes of Thai-Danish milk from there. I can pay for the extra weight and provide some tip too so u can earn some money while go on holiday. My family loves that milk. PM me if you could help. Cheers.

it's not that bad..
media are showing the worst part... i don't see any red shirt people walking here and there... You can hardly access into that part since the train station for that section are close. It's best you change your place to another place. Staying in Silom is quite a bad choice right now. Try Sukhumvit or Bangrak. Mahnora Hotel is next budget hotel , just a tip. Besides that , busines as usuall. Lumphini night market is open. platinum mall and phantip is open on Sunday. |

just came back from bangkok on Monday. Stayed at Citin Pratunam... no danger of protests anywhere nearby there. However, the hotel really not visible from the main roads and need to walk about 1km to Ratchathewi skytrain. They provide free tuk tuk out from hotel but not back to hotel from skytrain.
MBK and Platinum mall are open. Suan Lum night bazaar open also (although when i was there it looked like a ghost town...nobody in that area). Silom is not a good place to be right now. That being said... from personal experience.. if u want to just do shopping at MBK and Platinum mall, then it's fine. If not then i think this is not a good time to go Bangkok coz basically all other malls are closed and you never know when the skytrain will be suspended again (it was suspended for a day when i was there last week). Do take note that most taxis will take advantage of this unstable situation in Bangkok now. A lot of taxis do not want to use meter especially at night. Finally, if u fancy seeing soldiers and police everywhere then Bangkok is your ideal place right now! This post has been edited by shadowcaster: Apr 28 2010, 01:50 PM |

The situation in BKK isn't as bad as people think (especially for tourists). Always remember the media always hype things up and only a small section is closed off for your shopping/touristy needs.
Theres more to BKK then just a street. Just avoid big groups and wearing red or yellow shirts and you are fine. |
