Is the external drive a must purchase item? I'm actually interested in this model but currently sitting on the fence tongue.gif
Just have a feeling that the processor could be underpowered. Could get an Inspiron 15 with I7 for the same price too. I'll wait for the first batch of owners to give their reviews first smile.gif

I don't think the ext. ODD is a must buy item. Its all up to you.
I'm fine to live without a ODD though, I got the Blu-Ray ROM but i'm starting to question myself, how often do i really use it?

Other than ripping songs from CD and maybe a couple of installation, er.. that's all. LOL

however, to me external odd is important for the first few weeks. you may need it to install your games, softwares, copy your movies and stuffs.but sometimes you might need it for reformatting your laptop as well.

but before i buy the list of things for my lappy, i will extend my warrant to 3 year premier service and complete cover..add up it becomes a total of rm 4291 laptop without any accessories.

so to me, first thing after warranty, i would buy is a good external odd. then comes the kaspersky IS 2010. on the same day, i would be buying an external monitor about 15 to 17 inches, not too big + a gaming keyboard.

after that, games and movies smile.gif

external odd: rm300 below
KIS 2010 2 years RM130
monitor rm 350 below
keyboard rm100 below.

again add up become RM1180

Rm4291 + 1180 = rm 5471

that would be my plan lar.

If desperate can also copy programs to your thumbdrive then install using thumbdrive lar haha...

Btw, where do we customize the lighting color? I'm sort of playing with the customization page in Dell.

Also, I'm rather curious as to what brand of SSD is Dell giving. 256GB SSD for 925 is very cheap.

Dell just called, delivery today between 4-7pm. Wanna self collect but they don't allow. Package still in transit from Penang, arriving Dell hub in Shah Alam at 3pm.

I need to get out and get the external drive already. and a couple of new games, maybe Bioshock 2 and Mass Effect 2.

but IINM, since both of the games that you going to install involve having the disk inside in order to play, isn't it will be kind of a hassle to bring along the external drive with u at all time when u wanna play it?

I still have to deal with the "No DVD Patch" for my older games, so it doesn't make any difference if I buy the games physically now.
