hmmm.... not sure about that... i don't think it can protect much, although it's claimed to be as hard as steel but to replace the film with a chemical... i'm a bit in doubt la  tongue.gif

tat's why everything was removed when they did the glow.

in fact the film's kinda small... does it really help in protecting those areas from stonechips?
*
I have the exact same thought bro biggrin.gif ... i removed the small sticker after sending my car for waxing.

Hi! Bro bbear,
Just back to KL yesterday!
Are you mean AM in the Melaka?
Because I driving White Forte with 'KIA' emblem and same plate no as you write and driving at Melaka on 17-18/2 and 15-16 at Seremban to Pahang.
-------------------------------------------
Just for sharing to all, rclxms.gif
I driving from Triang, Pahang -> Tengkera, Melaka -> 2 days Town visit, Melaka -> Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Total distance Trip A: 400KM, DTE: 220km, Average: 7l/100km.
I found that the Average become very good during consistence driving around 70-80km/h at normal road from Pahang to Melaka, around 6.4l/100km.

In my opinion, I found BHP fuel is best for Forte in term of power & fuel consumption after tried Caltex, Esso, Shell.  thumbup.gif

In last, wishing all new Forte owner 'Happy Driving' and enjoy your 'Forte Roadshow' to other!!! flex.gif
*
Going to finish up Esso third tank very soon and will try BHP next icon_rolleyes.gif

and... will its effect my warranty ?

It will definitely void the warranty for your HU and the electronic parts that the installer might have to temper with when installing the LCD. But looks really nice drool.gif

Yeah, sick of the attitude of the branch SAs. Really incompetent!
My SA gave me free full tank petrol & door visor. I said I don't want the visor coz I want cash. He said ok. After more than a month. called him, didn't pick up phone. SMS him to call me, didn't call me. Called the manager, she said my SA already ordered the door visor. I was like WTF???
Tried calling him again. Didn't pick up.
Before that, when register, told him to meet me at his branch at 8:30am & then go together to JPJ to register my car. When I reach the branch, he was nowhere to be found. Instead another helpful SA followed me to JPJ & settled everything for me.
Bought mine from Juru. Those who bought from Juru & bought from that SA will know who he is.
Those intending to buy from Juru & wanna avoid this SA, PM me.
Don't want to publish name here.
*
Bro, i had the same bad experience at Macalister Branch ... my SA promises to pay me for the KIa original emblems ... after 2 months and after many sms and calls and threats, he finally banked in only RM100 (suppose to be RM135) and refuses to meet me!!! vmad.gif mad.gif ... PM me if you want to know who this @#$% is and avoid at all costs!!! vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

4te, r you from Penang? I'm still waiting for my car and I'm worried about the tinting part....coz I know they will need to take out the door panels to tint the side windows, and with all those "keyless" entry gadgets and wires I'm scared they might cause damage. Who do you recommend for tint job in Penang? "Delicate" one  tongue.gif
Wow, I was driving a borrowed P2 car up a hill today I was complaining about how hard it is to choose the suitable gear for 4-speed automatic cars...and when I reached home I read your quote!  notworthy.gif
*
Yup bro, i am Penang Forte Kaki biggrin.gif ... actually they didnt take out the door panel but just the top rubber part, the tweeter, the rear mirror and the third break light panel when installing. If you are interested in Security + Heat Rejection tint and dont mind doing it Butterworth, then i would recommend you Wingard Royale (highest range), JPJ compliance, GPS & Smart Tag friendly, and not to mention that they offer 10 years warranty, which only cost slightly more than some other brands with 5 years warranty (will PM you the special price for Forte members here). The workmanship is good, no bubble or rattling sound ... bro bbear did his 407 tint there too biggrin.gif

What i like the tint most is the head rejection of Wingard Royale (side and back) and also the colour (slightly dark and non-metallic). We can meet and I can show you the tint and other poisons if you want to smile.gif

My review on Wingard Royale http://www.kiafortemalaysia.com/showthread.php?t=129

Yup will PM you the price, but only applicable in Penang ya ... no worries, everyone is a member here, as long as you drive a Forte to tint and tell my friend "Lowyat, Facebook Forum member" can already icon_rolleyes.gif

BTW, what do you mean naza voucher? I the naza voucher is for other brand lo ... my SA did offer me security and heat rejection tint voucher i think its for other brand and not Wingard cos my friend doesn't deal with NAZA SA.

I tried to negotiate "discount" with my SA,
Since they says BIG no no discount on Forte,

Then, i tried to bs... "others dealer can offer bodykit as discount packages",
finally they offer free tint with TintMaster (normal price: ~rm1400)

Any Comment for the Quality of "TintMaster" ?
or... should i go for cash (surely will not ~1400) and take another brand?
*
Bro, i think the best is to take cash if possible ... my friend who runs a tint shop told me that a lot of SA gives free V-Kool tint and claims that its top range, but in actual fact the lowest range or a different brand all together ... its best to do your tint at an authorized shop and dont let the SA do it for you.

can ask for cash eh? will try that... is tintshop authorised?
*
Oh i think the voucher is not for Wingard tint ... you may check with your SA, if its a branded tint (branded tint = those brand that you can find the authorized dealers in the official website) and the price is within your budget, you can consider it also smile.gif

Hi all bros, i am planning to place my booking within this week or next for 1.6SX and most probably titanium silver or bronze. Recently one of my fren intro a sales from naza which says stock is ready and can deliver in one week if everything can be settled asap, so i was a bit confused since many others is quite conservative with the delivery date, so is there any honest and trust-able sales you guys know? At least not bluffing on the delivery dates hopefully~ thanks everyone and gong hei fatt choi~!
*
Bro, its true some dealers or branches might have ready stock for 1.6SX ... the one with uncertain date of delivery is 2.0SX.

I find that is a desirable feature for me since i feel lazy to keep on flipping the side mirror every time after parking by the road side....
worried of loosing the side mirror to some ignorant idiot on the road.....
*
Nope only manual foldable side mirrors ... i really wish that it comes with this feature too.

I used 303 Aerospace Protectant last Saturday on the dashboard and door panel ands it does clean the sticker mark besides protect the bashboard and door panels from UV. Try to use a damp microfiber cloth and see before using any cleaner.

update there's some diff in aircon now. lets do few more days in hot sun see how is it.

yah i'm using insulflex sold at aircon shops i taped connecting parts with foam tape 1st then only used foam hose in center.

both taped ends will block gaps when hose is on top.taped the cut part with the same foam tape 2 layers so no need to use plastic tie-backs.

Very nicely done bro ... did u DIY? How long does it take to complete?

Hi,

I'm looking forward for this 1.6 SX, Izzit the FC good compare with Vios and city?

smile.gif thks~
*
Frankly, Forte isn't going to win Vios and City in terms of FC cos Forte is not for an FC minded driver but the FC is a lot better than Spectra ... but full specs City/Vios at RM90k ... and 1.6SX at RM82k ... difference of RM8k ... how much saving you can get from City/Vios compare to Forte ... let say RM2k per year ... u need to drive Vios/City for 4 years to save RM8k and not to mention minus the nice audio system, safety features (ESC), additional space, cool features (auto climate control, keyless entry, push start/stop button, auto dim rear mirror) and of course the nice look with 17" rims! icon_rolleyes.gif

If you are looking for good FC car between RM70 to RM100k, then Vios and City are your only choices smile.gif

Or you guys can recommend other nice design for plate number? bcoz i personally think the stock plate number is ugly with the n*** plate holder.  yawn.gif
Please help.

To me, i think just get the custom small one with "majong letters/numbers" for front is nice enough ...

As for back, can stick to the original, i am lucky to get the KIA instead of NAZA biggrin.gif

I think the small one from NAZA is from dealer ... the dealer get it from number plate shop, thats why a lot better than branch cos the branches in Penang i think the SA DIY the number plate.

As a safety precautions, most car manufacturers will state in their manual asking users to check on the car's start up diagnosis / checking before cranking up the engine.

If there are any major faults, then the driver will decides to drive with that or not.

So, NO.. it does no good / no bad to the engine as it serves other purposes.

Thanks bro for clarifying ... i can continue with my "break+start" every morning then smile.gif

Hi guys...

Nice to see the Forte going strong. I'm considering getting a Forte 2.0. Maybe it's abit early to ask, but any info or heads-up on maintenance costs being very high (incomparison to other models of its class)...problems with Naza service centre??

Coz these 2 factors commonly associated with Korean/Naza cars. So just want some actual feedback frm ppl like u all who already own the car.
Thank you...and i appreciate any other info/feedback on these matters.
*
The maintenance costs should not be more than Civic or Altis if you are comparing with the same class ... as for SC, go to the reputable ones that are recommended by the members here and you should be fine and happy with the service biggrin.gif
