Naza Forte 2.0SX Engine








Compared to Forte 1.6 engine below, notice that there is a power steering's hydraulic fluid reservoir on the left side of the engine. Forte 2.0 uses motor driven power steering..so there's no hydraulic fluid reservoir

TQ bro..but unnoticeably my camera ran out of battery. so just snapped whatever i can without flash to fill-in (to conserve the battery). that's why some pics are quite blurred due to slower shutter speed

by the way, i've read before in other forum (cant remember which forum but it is an oversea forum if i'm not mistaken) saying that the suspension setup for EX & SX cars are different. EX suspension setup are more on comfort driving while SX got sort of sporting setup..more stiff but it's good for handling (minimise car wobbling). & whether changing to different size of rims will effect this setup. Anyway..if this is true, i personally think it wont effect much on Forte's handling when we change to different size of rims right?

If u change to Forte 2.0, instead of downgrading, u are upgrading actually..at least in term of specs & power

Specs wise, i have to say that both car got their advantages & disadvantages if we compare it to each other. some specs are superior to lancer gt but some other specs are in favour of the forte. so at the end, my main concern is which car give me the best buck for my money..& the clear answer is forte

For overall specs offered in both cars, especially when it comes to these 'toys'

1. 6 airbags (Consist of 2 front airbags, 2 side airbags & 2 full length curtain airbag)
2. Cruise control
3. Electronic Stability Control (Consist of Electronic Brake Force Distribution[EBD], Anti Lock Braking System[ABS], Brake Assist System[BAS], Cornering Brake Control[CBC] & Traction Control System[TCS])
4. Electric motor driven power steering (enhanced fuel economy)
5. Keyless entry with start stop button
6. Electro-chromic mirror
7. Electronic heated side mirror
8. Entertainment system with USB, auxiliary & iPod jack
9. Tilt & telescopic steering wheel column adjustment
10. Ultrasonic rear parking assist system with visual information
11. vanity mirror with light (both driver & passenger)
12. Longer wheelbase (means more space for passenger)
13. Bigger boot (luggage) space

i'm considering forte as an upgrade

Yaa..i have to agree that the CVT gives better comfort & fuel economy. but IMHO, CVT got nothing to do with the power. in fact the CVT ability to variably change the 'gear' ratio to a specific engine rpm (in which the torque is higher) that makes we feel more 'power'. In fact if we compare the engine power directly for both cars, Forte got 1ps more than Lancer . i guess bro bbear can explain better about this CVT matter.

& as far as Lancer GT is concerned, the extra kerb weight & the use of hydraulic steering will compromise the 'power' & fuel economy that the Lancer GT should has as compared to Forte 2.0

Same as what the normal rear windscreen heater do if i'm not mistaken, when we turn on the rear windscreen heater, the side mirror will be heated as well

That's what i meant by the CVT ability to variably change it ratio..to maintain the engine rpm at the 'sweet spot' in which the torque is higher. In that matter we will feel the 'kick' or more 'power'. It was an undisputed advantage of the CVT over the conventional transmission i must say. Speaking about transmission energy losses is another matter.

Anyway, i have to agree with u that the less energy losses of Lancer's CVT transmission & the extra torque make it (Lancer) an ideal & economical urban mover If Lancer uses electric steering & cut down the extra weight, perhaps it would be far more economical & ideal for urban driving.

So the gear got shift-lock. only it dont have the shift-lock button to manually disengage the lock. The shift-lock should disengage automatically by pressing the brake pedal
