xshiro@ so far, highest boost the campro can take with some extensive mods is 0.5 - 0.7 bar(too much ). friend of mine did just with the help of 3rd party ecu for low rpm torque harness and piggyback. cost around 11k. SiuYi@ yeah. the oem gearbox is actually quite tough and it has no problem handling the additional increase in hp. the reason for the cog change is for the the gear box ratio tuned / program to match the increase in torque projected on different rpm. CyberKewl@ any tampering to the engine; bot, supercharge, port and polish top will void the warranty. btw, modding after 15k mileage will be better due to engine already fully run in

will ask for a dyno result from my friend. to me, it doesn't worth the extra 11k all round upgrade on 1.3 campro. the rear suspension setup is still on torsion beam with limited 'travel' rate thus limit the fun during fast cornering. not to mentioned the frequent stop by jpj/traffic

CyberKewl who know if u change the stroker kit only?they open and measure?even if ur engine kong, they see around like normal, just get claim nia la..the thing is inside, and the length is not so big difference.no big deal.u can cover their eyes up properly.
yngwie however, we canot use back the rpm setting for persona for our ride if we plan to make our car faster.the current 1.3 setting is just fine.i doubt our ecu will change itself to fit the new setting or not..better not.
oh btw, BOT and Supercharge wont void ur engine la..i triple checked with my mech. it's just add-on item, not changing the engine structure.

SiuYi@ thats why we need 3rd part ecu for engine managing and piggyback. could be e-manage or unichip btw, your mechanic work in pesc? as far as i know, BOT require additional engine works in gasket change and port and polish top, intake and exhaust manifold change. without toying around with the engine top, there is no way a BOT could work properly on the fragile campro. local turbo kit for campro comes with an engine management chips tho. for me, we should not care much about the warranty if we were to mod the car fc and maintenance should not be an issue on turbo engine. fun does comes in price. it's a fact just my 2c This post has been edited by yngwie: Mar 27 2010, 01:32 PM

CyberKewl expected far better as the 1.6 BLM is using the RPM ratio of a persona.if u retain 1.3 BLM's RPM ratio, the pickup will be slightly faster than and RPM will be higher than the 1.6 BLM.
yngwie my mech do not wanna entertain any BOT on BLM's campro, he insist our ride can only manage to cope with supercharge. Turbo or watsoever, he say NO. so if supercharge, no additional stuff needed to back it up..our oem ecu will tune for us automatically.
siuyi's rules: when it comes to performance, we are not talking about how much we gonna spend for it, and the FC going high. as a manner of fact, if ur ride is fast, u spend less time on the road, theoretically, u save time and fuel on the road and reach ur destination earlier. spend less time on road = spend less fuel on road.

Cos 1.3 FC not so good even for manual..

cool...with this much info, i guess my 1st try after reaching 10k milage is 1.6 stroke kit... btw, if getting the 1.6, should we be getting the 1.6 forged version(forges pistons) or normal 1.6 that came oem for persona?in case get naughty in the future for supercharged or etc... billy520 advice: before next service u can go change it.as after u change to 1.6 stroker kit, ur engine will adjust back like a new car from proton again..repeated service from 0k.might as well u save up ur service for the 1.3 engine and start off from 1.6 engine 0k service.get oem.
