Also depending on what games I am currently playing and my mood too.

Hopefully it would be much better than Fallout 3.

I just want the ending to be more ooomph.
last time read preview, developer said "will have more than 100 endings".
100 endings my behind.1 epic ending oso they cant come up with.

hope new vegas got 1000 endings.... brows.gif haha
seriously, hope the ending not so anticlimatic like fallout 3.

I am hoping for a better story as well and less crashes.

I can't even remember what configurations I played Fallout 3 to reduce the CTD.

Fallout New Vegas Collector's Edition announced
Posted May 11th 2010 11:00AM by John Callaham
Filed under: RPG, Fallout: New Vegas

Bethesda Softworks had a very nice Collector's Edition of Fallout 3 when it came out in 2008. Today the publisher announced plans to release a Collector's Edition version of its follow-up Fallout: New Vegas. Due out at the same time as the regular edition this fall, this deluxe edition will set you back $69.99 for the PC version.

In addition to the game itself, developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the Collector's Edition will contain quite a few extra including seven poker chips "designed to represent chips from the major casinos found on the New Vegas strip and throughout the Mojave Wasteland" and a version of the game's Lucky 38 platinum chip. There will also be a full card deck that will "depict characters and factions found within the game." In addition to real card games like poker, you can use the card deck to play Caravan, a new card game that was created for Fallout New Vegas.

There will also be a behind-the-scenes DVD in the Collector's Edition and a hardcover comic, All Roads, that will be made in collaboration with Dark Horse Comics. The comic will serve as a prequel to the game and will be written by Obisidian's Chris Avellone

I just tried Fallout 3 "ahem" edition and found that I like the game a lot.

I want to buy the Game of The Year edition but found that it has been discontinued by most of the sellers in Malaysia.

Is there any other way to purchase the game in Malaysia?

For New Vegas, is it standalone? Last time I heard, its a DLC.

Hey, i'm starting to like steam already, i found out that like your having 2 OS in a pc, steam can manage all the games for you without having to reinstall and waste the activation limit, because i recently just install win7 and some of the game have to uninstall from XP before i could play it on win7 or i risk losing an activation limit.

» Fallout: New Vegas Collector's Edition detailed
Still in development by franchise creators Obsidian Entertainment, the newest installment in the Fallout series comes with a whole bunch of goodies if you're willing to part with an extra $20:

May 11, 2010 (Rockville, MD) – Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax® Media company, today announced the Fallout®: New Vegas™ collector's edition (CE) for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and Games for Windows. The limited collector's edition is available in North America for pre-order now through participating retailers.

In addition to including the highly anticipated game, this premium version of Fallout: New Vegas also includes the game-inspired items below:

♠ "Lucky 7" poker chips. Each of the seven poker chips was designed to represent chips from the major casinos found on the New Vegas strip and throughout the Mojave Wasteland.

♠ A fully customized Fallout: New Vegas deck of cards. Each card in the pack has been uniquely illustrated to depict characters and factions found within the game. Use the cards to play poker, blackjack or Caravan, an original card game that was created by Obsidian especially for New Vegas!

♠ A recreation of the game's highly coveted "Lucky 38" platinum chip.

♠ A hardcover graphic novel "All Roads", that tells the story of some of the characters and events that lead up to Fallout: New Vegas. "All Roads" was written by Chris Avellone, the game's creative director, and created in conjunction with Dark Horse Comics.

♠ 'The Making of Fallout: New Vegas' DVD. This documentary DVD will contain exclusive video content, including interviews with the developers in which they take you from concept to creation and discuss topics such as story, setting, legacy of the Fallout franchise and more.

"We're offering this very cool collector's edition to give fans the opportunity to own some of the items that they'll discover while playing Fallout: New Vegas," said Pete Hines, vice president of PR and marketing. "We are also expanding their experience with the game by including a top-notch graphic novel worthy of the Fallout name and a DVD that gives them a behind-the-scenes look at how the game was created."

Fallout: New Vegas, the follow-up to Fallout® 3 – the 2008 Game of the Year – brings this beloved franchise to a location only Fallout could do justice: Vegas. Fallout: New Vegas takes all the action, humor and post-apocalyptic grime and grit of this legendary series, and raises the stakes. Published by Bethesda Softworks, Fallout: New Vegas is currently under development at Obsidian Entertainment and is slated for a Fall 2010 release.

Fallout®: New Vegas has not yet been rated by the ESRB.

Will I have a physical DVD or at least able to make copy of the game? Having to download the game that big using Streamyx everytime I need to reinstall is just totally unimaginably insanely horrible and torturing.

Will I need a Steam account for this?

Yes, you can have a physical DVD copy by backing up the game from Steam (as many physical copies you want and you can backup the updated game as well)

No, you do not need to redownload the whole thing if you have your backup copy in DVD or your HDD.

Yes, you will need a Steam account.

I'll wait for reviews first before buying this.

I haven't gotten Alpha Protocol, might get that via Steam when it is on sale.

Different teams. AP was kinda troubled to begin with. New Vegas has preexisting standards to adhere to....miniscule as they are tongue.gif

agree. AP is built from scratch, so you can expect many problem with it. New Vegas is more like an improved Fallout 3, which has fixed many bugs from the the early version of f3. so they can focus more to the storyline. but if they screrw this up too, obsidian gonna be in my blacklist.
