Anyone who wants to try Fiio E7 that lives nearby Wangsa Maju area can contact me Bring your cans so I can have a test too hehe By the way on easy to drive cans like my AD300, Eterna etc the difference aren't that big. Overall details does improve and music sounded less flat. The biggest improvements are on those headphones that are harder to drive.

Getting Started

|
1 downside of this amp is when you connect to USB it will automatically start charging. The default setting on USB charge is always on, and you have to manually turn it off. Quite annoying.
I wonder if there's any new firmware to address it.

After hours of usage, I notice the battery status reduced by 1 bar.

Sansa Clip 4G V1 -> FiiO E7 -> ATH ESW9 Cheers

some pics... The amp with some of the supplied accessories.. The first headphone amp that have OLED display..although not necessary for amp functionality, it's a must due to the extra features(bass boost, keylock, usb charge option, sleep timer etc.). Unfortunately the mirror finish front panel is dust and fingerprint magnet... Back panel of the amp.. Overall build quality i rate it as above average..in fact, ibasso has better build quality..not sure about other E7 owner but mine, the edge of the panel is quite rough, somehow they don't sand it properly..and the screw hole is off-centered and the depth of the screws is uneven. no wonder the manufacturer include together the silicone case to cover all these imperfections.. Cheers This post has been edited by jigon: May 28 2010, 06:51 PM

Cheers That's because iBasso actually has a strong point in build quality, not the E7 is badly built. You should try 3MOVE, the outer case can used to sand down the back of an iPod if you are not careful enough. It is actually quite typical of this kind of case.

iBasso price is almost twice of E7 price, so no surprise to see a better build quality xD

Yeah, I gotta agree with some of the build quality imperfections on the E7.
Like mentioned above, my E7 metal edges is a rough, not sand down properly.
The mirror like front got some stain that is unremovable.
But it's still a good dac/amp for its price.
Probably qc not that top notch since the item has been a long awaited product... pretty sure the factory is rushing to meet the demands.
Hopefully they will improve their qc as times comes along
