Yeah....how far can the Euro drop? Planning trip now...hahahaha...
Can the Euro detach itself from the Greek problem? hmm.gif
Meaning to say, is there the possibility for the Euro to actually stop sliding even though EC is facing the problems with Greece, Spain etc.?
Suspected intervention by foreign bank. It was on the biz channels last night, Bloomberg and CNBC....Everyone noticed that the Euro suddenly strengthened.

Maybe, possible. Anyways hsi futures further down

I did the opposite laugh.gif
now thinking of moving the money to something safer like MPHB or Tanjong... unsure.gif
*
I think MPHB got better upside....Tanjong already rising from 13.xx to 18. MPHB quite steady, but...i think that may also be the problem...too steady... blink.gif
I have Tanjong, and MPHB actually on my radar. smile.gif

I think the opposite of the opposite. Those defensive names are heavily bought, leaving the small risky stocks untouched. I would speculate on the small caps coz its cheap as panic selling takes over. smile.gif

Interesting that when the RBA raises Australian rates it is hailed as a sign of economic recovery and the markets rise but when the Fed moves the rate the market reaction is opposite..... hmm.gif

I don't think Dow will melt tonight, maybe its going up further.

The initial reaction is "oh no, the fed is tightening". In fact, they are not. The libor os and ted spread have not widened significantly. There will only be a huge crash when the "money market players" think there's a liquidity shortage in the system.

Again, anything is possible. But unlike U.S and U.K, the Chinese government has money to enhance its large fiscal stimulus programs.

It actually depends on which side of the coin you are looking at really....

Bearish side - OMG!!!! Rates are up!! It'll cost more to borrow....The economic recovery will come to a halt...Run for your lives!!! Markets are going to tank!! rclxub.gif

Bullish side - YES!!! Feds are confident economy is on the mend. They can start remove stimuli put in place last year. We can look forward to better economy at the end of the year!...Quick quick buy buy!!! sweat.gif

Buy 400 lots at 9 cents and sell it all at 10 cents... tongue.gif
Joking only... tongue.gif
But i sure got some people out there with the risk appetite.
Anyway, such a strong sell down on the OR.
Could be all those who buy last week and their T+3 comes up already... tongue.gif

Put it another way, 30 important counters are not really reflecting HSI and STI...
At this moment, of the 30 counters, there are 14 counters down a total of 71 sen and 9 counters up a total of 68 sen. 7 unchange. tongue.gif
So sort of balance out....Main droppers are Genting, Tanjong and BAT. Main gainers are Digi & Sime.

Added on February 19, 2010, 11:40 amOh ya....can some one explain why Digi opens up 50sen at 22.34 when there is actually no trade done? hmm.gif

MAS still dropping like a stone. So the key question is whether has the "stone" reach the bottom biggrin.gif
Recent news like the legal suit in US does it no good as well. However on the positive side, if it has hit the bottom then the only other way is up. Where's Idris J when you need him ?

Genting on Garage sales again.

Sorry, not comparing apple with apple.
