QUOTE(jay @ Feb 28 2010, 01:58 PM)
wow thx sifu up there pointin out all the details...
i'm using 15w-40w castrol black oil and i'm topping up once a week if i got hard driving/long distance for 5~6hours
oil consumption is terrifying and sometimes it goes from middle line (based on the engine oil level on the dipstick)
to EMPTY [DRY, no oil on dipstick]
one more thing is radiator water got less significantly after hard driving
(my engine doesnt "eat" black oil only, it oso "eat" WATER!! wad a monster)
*
i would suggest u change ur engine oil cap 1st ... 15w40 is still considered ok .... once changed then monitor again, before changing better check around ur engine bay for oil stains just to confirm ....

about radiator water ... do as wat cheeann suggested, he very pro de .. hahaha XP

QUOTE(cheeann @ Feb 28 2010, 03:42 PM)
ok,will let u know tmr if i got go spare part shop~  smile.gif
then try 12W 50 n see if it's still consuming engine oil or not~
as for radiator's water try open up ur bonet n start ur engine n cheak for water leakage~
*
got '12W' de meh? ... wahahahha ...
check liao let me know ba ... havent got sound yet but got the feeling its almost time ... sweat.gif

i think jay's problem is highly coz of the engine oil cap ... after a hard/long drive he is required to topup = most probably will be oil evaporating ... engine oil evaporate is due to either too low viscosity or the oil cap ... but then who knows, so better keep on monitor after replacing the cap ...

confused .... just to correct the quote, Copper dispense heat faster than aluminum ... evo use alu coz the most important of all, its VERY light, cheap and anti rust ... they did a good combination, fast speed = good wind + average heat dispense = perfect cooling ... lolx
