oic...so if budget RM3000, which laptop u r recommended?

Well, since you need at least battery life 3 hours, the best setup would be intel cpu + intel gma, then the inspiron 14 might suit you
Since you mention will still play games, dedicated card would be better to have, though expense in lower battery life... Must it be 14'' or 15'' is okay? There's Dell Studio 15, i5 430M + ATi HD4570 for RM 2999.... This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Feb 11 2010, 01:41 AM |

hmm...i think 15" is too big...very heavy to carry to here and there...

There are, but doesn't come with i5 which you prefered....

Another one would be Compaq CQ41-214TX, i5 430M + ATi HD4330, 14''@RM2549, though the Acer 4740G would give better value...
As for the Studio 14, there's seems to be RM 80 coupon from this thread http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1320638 and also seems that if you use maybank CC to pay for Studio notebook, you can get discount RM250, but do confirm with the Dell Sales Agent first... Then Acer 1410T@RM 1499
Though it offers single core CPU + intel gma 4500mhd but it still more powerful than atom variant with intel gma 500/950/3150 while still offer long battery life.... i jsut came aross the aspire 4736z. its retailing at 1899 with a pentium processor t4400 2.2ghz 1mb cache 800mhz FSB mobile intel 40gl express chipset. Just wondering why is a unit that has a 14" display retailing at the same rrp as the 1810tz. everything else but the processor and the screen looks the same to me |

Well, they both are directed to different market,
Acer 4736Z is for basic budget notebook, offering around 3 hours battery life, while Acer 1810TZ is for mobility, and needed long battery life > 6 hours,... Certainly 11.6'' notebook would be easier to bring around rather than 14'', right? as for Acer 1410T@RM1499, it comes with linux, 1gb ram and 250gb hdd while 1810TZ comes with win 7 home premium, 2gb ram, 320gb hdd, both same size at 11.6'' This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Feb 11 2010, 02:51 AM |

Asus wise, mostly only got vga for K40 series...
As for Dell, Inspiron 13@RM2099 fits almost all criteria except its 13'' and no dvd drive... Another one would be Inspiron 14z, upgrade the gpu to HD4330@RM 2469, the downside is its using low voltage processor... As well, Inspiron 14@1499, Inspiron 15@RM2199, upgrade gpu to HD4330 by adding RM120... Unless top up RM99, for the new inspiron 14/15@RM2599, if latest tech matters... Well, if you want to exclude acer...
closest would be Lenovo G460-Core i3-330M 5903-6369 RM2249 I3-330M 2.13GHZ / DDR3 2GB / 320GB / DVDRW / Nvidia 310M 512MB / 14.1"WXGA / CAM / WIFI / DOS but yeah, that CQ41 is a quite a good buy, though if you want to install XP, I don't really recommend compaq CQ series, since hard to find driver... |
