I would take Asus A52JR
though slower cpu, but better gpu for better gaming....

A52JR's graphic card is a win but the i5 is pretty tempting with it's turbo tingy 0.o

Well, depends on you, whether gaming is important or not,
most games are more gpu dependent...

If really restricted under 1.7k, consider acer 4540 @RM1699
But if can, really do consider Asus K40AB/K50AB@RM1899

pentium dual core is just a crippled down version of core 2 duo, less l2 cache...

Under 1.7k, you would only see intel pentium or c2d with intel gma which is not gaming friendly...
hmm, there's one Lenovo B450A, t4300 and nvidia g105m, around RM15xx or 16xx iinm., thish should be better than acer 4540, can consider this also..

Just checked out studio 15 and acer 5740G at LYP. I don't really like the 5740G in terms of the super glossy screen and rather shallow keyboard. Decided to order studio 15 with full HD screen albeit the graphic card is weaker.

when acer gonna release something with i5 (430M or 520M) and 5650 in malaysia? waited so long

I've checked Sony Malaysia website, they Vaio Z is still old model. Hmm, March, I am afraid I am off to College then, any other options ?
