It seems like only available in 32-bit when customizing in Dell...
iinm you can use the 32-bit windows key and use it to install 64-bit windows, you just need to find the installer... This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Mar 10 2010, 02:03 PM |

All notebook also don't come with MS Office, you need to buy it separately,
You can consider OpenOffice, its free or MS Office 2010 beta, its free as well. Pirated one, well you never know what they put in it, virus or trojan, etc.. |

It has ATi HD4200 which is just an integrated GPU.
ATi HD4570 or Nvidia G210M still better than it. This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Mar 10 2010, 03:58 PM |

ATi HD4550 is a downclocked version of HD4570, with an overclocked it might better since it got DDR3 vram., it got the potential...
Still, overclocking in a notebook is not really suggested since the limited space and cooling... This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Mar 10 2010, 04:53 PM |

Can consider
Lenovo G455@RM1749 AMD Athlon X2 M320 (2.1GHz/ 1MB/ L2 Cache) / DDR3 2GB / 320GB / DVDRW / ATI 4550 DDR3 512MB / 14.1"WXGA / freeDOS / 2 Year Carry-in (Regional) Warranty Not sure whether got HDMI port or not... This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Mar 11 2010, 10:11 AM |

The Lenovo G455 would have better CPU(Newer generation, 45nm) than Asus K40AB/K50AB (Its using older generation, 65nm) while the Lenovo G450 would have the best CPU out of those, the thing is, seems like only available with Intel GMA 4500M HD, as the one with Nvidia G210M replaced with the G460 model which priced around RM2.2K above. Lenovo G450 have better battery life...
ATi HD4550 is a HD4570 with lower clock, but HD4570 in K40AB/K50AB is using DDR2 vram only while the Lenovo G455 is using DDR3 vram, it might have the potential to be better than HD4570 in Asus K40AB/K50AB when overclocked... The other thing is K40AB/K50AB doesn't have HDMI, only VGA, as for G455, haven't seen it personally, so not sure. Lenovo G455 is using Athlon II x2, with smaller production(45nm), it should have better temp management. Those three notebook support 64-bit. You can pick either one of it, its wouldn't vary that much in gaming performance though in stock settings. Its still a sub-2k notebook... Just my opinion... 13-14'' wise, Asus A42Jr with i5 520M + ATi HD5470@RM2999 would offer better CPU and GPU wise than others, with 2 years global warranty.
Dell wise, Dell Inspiron 14, i5 430M + ATi HD4330@RM2499, weaker CPU, GPU but with onsite warranty... If you don't mind 17.3'' profile, Vostro 3700 would offer better deal though, i5 430M + Nvidia GT 330M@RM2849 This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Mar 11 2010, 07:31 PM |

32-bit/64-bit is more on the matter it can recognize 4GB or more of RAM....
Upgrading is not difficult, its the same with reformatting windows, just using different disc and getting new drivers. Its better if you can get 64-bit now so later on no need to hassle yourself upgrading or finding another disc... If I'm not mistaken, 32-bit key can be used on 64-bit Windows...
