We've tested it a couple of times and it seemed fine. I tested it during peak hours too.

Its been a while since the net has been horrid there, so it should be run smoothly.

Dont worry, we'll take the necessary precautions to make sure it runs smoothly.

We should have confirmation on this within the week smile.gif

So you wanna supply his contact, instead of beating around the bush, Brandon ?

Mind you, we have to go through official channels and you know how slow that is at times.

Trying to troll the tourney organisers aint gonna help your cause much you know ...

8:29 PM - DUNNO. DUNCARE. GO f*** URSELF.: or email me at gameadmin@maxonline.com.sg

I assumed you, Auricom, would already know who the admin is =P

besides i'm not looking for help, i was just curious to know how this comp will run...

don't think i will spend money to enter a comp to play a buggy game. same reason why the server admin is taking down quakelive from his servers.

HALLER!

Registration fees are at RM30/Person and RM150/team. As this is an event with NO BUDGET and being organized for the community, by the community, 80% of the registration fees will go into the Prize Pot. More teams sign up, the bigger the Prize Pot.

so let me get this straight...
intel or whoever the sponsor is, is only sponsoring the venue and nothing else?

Intel Worldwide isnt capable of sponsoring yet. But participant prizes aren't affected by their sponsorship anyway.

Since this is a trigger based event, the money comes straight from the reg fees.

The prize increment will increase every 8 teams by RM 1000.

Sponsors are sponsoring for the 2nd and 3rd placings, which are not affected by the trigger.

The idea is to ask less and make the event more feasible in the long run. Throwing RM 20k for 1 team to win and having it only once a year does not help anyone except the winners.

The event is solely to aid that fact, to bring benefit to both gamers of every level - beginner, intermediate and skilled - organizers - the more teams the more profit, the less teams the less work - sponsors, the amount they spent will be based on the popularity of the game or event, rather than just a waste of resources.

This generates a feasible cycle where teams pay, organizers run and sponsors provide on equal levels - generally sharing the burden. From this, we get high quality tournaments with high quality teams - generally improving the standards due to the group - double elim stages (more games, more exposure, more experience)

This will be coupled with future events to aid them, running tiered competitions - tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 tournaments - where teams play against other teams in their own tier.

For this event, teams that have had good performances throughout the year will be tier 1, teams that have stable performances will be in tier 2, while teams that are new or unheard of will be automatically put in tier 3.

Each group will have a mix of all 3 tiers during the group stages, allowing an equal chance in each group for teams to qualify.

By doing this, teams get a satisfactory amount of games to play - against teams their level, teams that are better and teams that are weaker in the same group, thus allowing them a chance to improve throughout the event and after.

Its an out of the box look at e-sports, something people need to slowly understand and apply.
