Same-lah 5800 & Vivaz is using the same platform ....If 5800 can so do Vivaz, N97, Satio & X6...I dun think any speacial wth 5800.
Yes currently no support but the neuvex development sopund promising...If 5800 can so do X6, N97, Satio & Vivaz..UNLESS its Nokia ovi developed thingies such as ovimaps & etc..which required special updater software..such as maploader or the skype thingy that only can be downloaded from the website... |

Btw. Is there a setting to turn on or off the light effects?
One more thing I dont like about the vivaz is its SMS with dictionary. When i type a word with a dot, the whole word changes. Dam. And press D with dictionary is also a problem since E comes out first and I have to press Spell Word. |

OK what..I dun feel any problem sms..exactly the same as 5800. & I dun use the spell or dictionary thingy..
The turning on Off the light is a third party software. I used the "Bright Touch" from ovi store but it's not available in Payon. I tried getting from symbian freeware site but that file was corrupted..still looking for it.. Actually it's not higher RAM - Higher processor speed i.e 720+ Mhz compare to 420+mhz.. The Ram data was not provided by SE. I found it only once I installed a 3rd party software caled "Memory up"...& it shows 180MB. BTW, Y'day I installed another 3rd party but Sony developed softwqre -'Equalizer" to suppliment the music player...Now the music getting better liao after I switch on the mega bass...b4 that the music player really cacat wan...worst than 5800 many times This post has been edited by stimix: Apr 21 2010, 07:08 AM |

I'll list down the advantages & disadvatages after a week using this phone (Comparing with Nokia 5800)
Advantages 1) higher processor speed - 720Mhz probably the highest among all Symbian based phone (N97/X6/5800 all using 420Mhz) -Suprising thye speed higher than Satio (600Mhz0 - however actual usage u dun really feel the speed compare to 5800 2) Smallest, lightest & slimest of all Symbian based touch screen phones..Easy to carry & dun feel it inside the pocket. 3) Almost all softwares developed using S60 R5 platform can run on this phone except those required Nokia Ovi map loader & installation via direct website which Sony not one of the party -Skype!!) 4) 8.1MP camera - Very good in low & bright light but abit poor if use flashlight (which is a tiny LED). Superb HD video recording on 720p reso. Better than my Panasonic Tz15 digicam. 5) Touchscreen more responsive compare to 5800 & it's a hard glass compare to soft plastic screen on 5800 - looks cool too.. Disadvantages: 1) Very low int memory only 75MB nia compare to 5800 -125mb 2) Music player output not loud & lousier compare to 5800. need to install equalizer to bring out the sound! (via playon) 3) Back casing is gloss plastic & easily get sctraches - (I currently using an invi sheild) - nokia 5800 cover so nice wth rubber grip. 5) Similar to all S60 R5, having software bugs running Garmin MXT! haizzz..& the GPS track recording is not as accurate compare to 5800 Will updates these list as & when basis.. internal memory not ram
internal memory is like harddisk in ur computer, expandable by memory card, since it provided 8gb, so i think its not a prob. |

Yeah just ant int memory & not RAM..With all the std applications & Sony own softwares/ wallpapers & etc on this small int HDD already occupied ~ 46MB of the 75MB space. U can't save much thing in the int built in HDD/memory.
The funny thing abiout this Vivaz is they dun published their RAM data! I only found out after installing a 3rd party programme - & its shows 160-180MB (Keeps on changing between this 2 figures..pening liao..)..Anyway, if it's 160-180mb it will be higher than 5800 for sure but lower than Satio 256mb RAM |

I dunno lol....but wth the physical keypad, definitely will be another bulky brix liao..just like those ugly slide qwerty phones...
Added on April 21, 2010, 5:12 pmBTW, Got another incompartible Nokia software liao Today..previously I luv using the LED as flashlight via brightlight software. Found it at last & installed successfully but the LED doesn't lighted!! haizzz...I tot all S60 R5 compliment each other..probably the switch in the software does not shoted to the LED!! Hopefully playon coming wth a flashlite function on this phone..Otherwise, have to on the camera & light together! This post has been edited by stimix: Apr 21 2010, 05:12 PM |
