I've tried GMXT version 5.00.60 and it crashes whenever I browse the map. Normally requires restarting Vivaz.

Now using version 5.00.50 and it still frequently crashes when I browse the map, but at least can close GMXT from task manager and restart.

One question, POI searching far from current position (eg searching "1 Utama" from Seremban) take ages, is it weird? Or is there a better to search POIs? Or is it normal & I have to live with it? It's frustrating to wait a few minutes to search.

I've tried Ovi Map and:

1. It's very stable
2. Renders the map beautifully (for me)
3. Searching is fast & u can search POIs around a city eg "Petronas, Kuala Terengganu", u can even search by category eg "Petrol, Kuala Lumpur". This is a critical feature that GMXT sucks
4. Map is behind Malfreemap, but ahead of Google Map & TomTom
5. Cannot plan ur route, can only show route from ur current position, or is it I don't find in the manual? This is a critical feature to me
6. Any way to put custom POIs? If yes, I can try importing from Malfreemap's POIs

Hard reset if that actually exist in SE phones. Try removing your battery and restarting again first if still cannot. Remove your memory card and boot again if still cannot, Hard Reset (if applicable) laugh.gif

No idea which stage you are stuck at. Can you try to connect to the USB port of your computer / notebook and have Sony PC Companion detect the phone?

If you can, then you can click to the Support Zone and proceed to Update your phone. There will be a window to say if your firmware is updated. I assume it is and you will have an option to Repair the software.

Good luck. If the Sony PC Companion cannot access the phone, the only way is to get back to Sony Centre to get it checked.

Good news, you do not need to uninstall Garmin to have better battery lasting. I googled around found that there is a background service by Garmin that drains the battery for most of the Vivaz users, you just need to remove that processes called "TSRAutoStart.exe", then you will see significant different of your battery last.
Launch JBak Taskman you will see this process, is very simple to do, just START GarminMXT goto Tools -> Settings -> System -> Launch Background Services and change to ENABLED.
EXIT GarminMXT, re-start GarminMXT and goto Tools -> Settings -> System -> Launch Background Services and change to DISABLED...

Recheck that TSRAutoStart.exe still in JBak Taskman. crap rclxms.gif

I am considering buying the Vivaz as a birthday gift. But in your opinions, it it still worth buying this phone now, when there is andriod, bada around? THe hardware specs of the Vivaz are no doubt attractive.

I saw a petition on Facebook to upgrade Vivaz and Satio to Symbian^3. If this really happens, then yes I would buy this without a doubt.

Thanks.
