guys,im planning to get this screen since im able to get it cheap from a friend..thing is,this model is not sold in malaysia and its so hard to find details on the net..translated one of the texts online and it says
this screen claims to be Full HD..my question is,is it really 1920 X 1080?what does WXGA mean?and i dont get any info at all about the dynamic contrasts etc.anyone can give me a hand?is this screen worth it for a price of 2k+?

If it's full HD, then it HAS to be 1920 x 1080 or else it wont qualify for the "FULL HD" title.

Yes, this model is a Full HD model. Supposedly a replacement for the V550 series. Features includes Bravia Engine 3 and Intelligent Picture PLUS

No news about the pricing and launch date yet.

For RM2k+, Full HD 40 inch is definitely worth it. The previous V550 40" used to costs twice the price.

ok..then ill try to confirm my purchase tomorrow..very limited stock at the moment..

im abit confused about the name of these BRAVIA series..this particular model is of the BX series or U series??ive tried to google the whole night and honestly it has been very disappointing..since some people mentioned that certain series are not as good as others..

and this model is a 'future' upcoming model?

Sony new lineup is now using new naming scheme. No mre S, T, V and W. Dunno about Z and X.
Yes, this is an upcoming model.

However, I dont think the BX400 we get locally comes only with two HDMI ports. One thing for sure, the BX400 in that Sony site isn't the same BX400 we will get eventually at Malaysia since our BX400 comes with Bravia Engine 3, not BE2.

Even the entry level model currently on promotion, the 32EX300 is using BE3.

so the bx400 will eventually reach our shores?this would be a low-mid end model right considering the price?for now im not even sure if the unit i get would be a local model or an import model..the unit is confirmed to be Bravia Engine 3..any advice on what i can check on the screens?i mean im able to get close to it but not touch it yet..

Even Sony M'sia is not going to market this model, us as consumer if interested still can get it from overseas. So what not to bring to discussion?

The BX/EX series will eventually reach our side (since BX is already here) but the real question is the NX, HX and LX will be here or not.

and lastly, dont look at overseas model review/specification as it is often that our local set came with different configuration and probably naming as well.

for info, BX production in malaysia. a very new model. not release yet, not sure how this info leak out. not sure wxga is wat...but only 40" in full HD.

it uses BE3 since its a new model. n malaysia model is ready n wait for market release. but actually this shud not be sell anywhere else yet.

sad to say no motionflow...i think so, cos no 200Hz. I think i got the spec somewhere. tomorow will post info if get the spec.

as the price says, its low-mid end...unlike V series or W series. both was my prefered model. Really like both V and W series.

WXGA = Widescreen eXtended Graphics Array, is generally understood to refer to a resolution of 1366×768, with an aspect ratio of 16:9.

so the full hd isnt actually a 1920 X 1080 resolution but a scaled up version of a 1366×768?

FullHD is 1920 x 1080 at 16:9 aspect ratio, WXGA is 1366×768 at 16:9 aspect ratio.

then why do they market it with the Full HD tag?sorry,a bit new to buying LCDs..

I only from Sony website, their said it is FullHD but noting describe it is WXGA. Try to get information from official website not other third parties website. Also take note that not all countries will offer same specification with other countries.

well, if you're looking for sony rgb led, 2 of em are on display clearance sale in sony center, subang parade..

i think the wxga resolution is the max resolution you can get if you are connected to a pc.

This BX400 is the replacement for 40S550

The replacement for 40V550 is EX400 (available in 40', 46' and 32')

So far, the only noticeable difference between EX4 and BX4 is the number of HDMI ports. BX4 has 2 and EX4 has 4. I'll try to grab more details later.
