Moaning fortozz,

It already stated "whichever comes first" or "let your friends know so that they know and accompany you to service centre and 'open table' after that" tongue.gif

hello all,

just wanna share FC on my ride. full tank last only for 2 days.. cry.gif
but wait, its not because the car drink petrol like syrup.. but.. coz of travelling.. tongue.gif biggrin.gif

Distance covered = 543KM (right after the fuel tank empty lights up)
Refuel tank to full and liter pumped = 44.3L
KM before empty = 67KM left
ODOmeter figure = 8L/100KM

KM/L figure = 543KM/44.3L = 12.25KM/L

Places traveled = Damansara -> Shah Alam -> Pandan Jaya -> Shah Alam -> Temerloh -> Mentakab -> Temerloh -> Batu Caves -> Pandan Jaya -> Setapak (fuel empty here) sweat.gif

Driving style = 20% light foot + 80% heavy foot
Driving condition = 20% city + 80% highway
Driving speed city = ranging from 70KM/H to 110KM/H
Driving speed highway = ranging from 110KM/H to 140KM/H (most of the time at 130KM/H @ 3.5K RPM)

The figure for me is considered okay because of hard driving style.

If you're manually calculating the FC, please bear in mind that we could not use full 52L (tank capacity)

i take the above for example:

543KM + 67KM = 610KM (assume i use all the remaining petrol in tank)
my odo shows 8L/100KM;
if full tank 52L than the figure is not correct anymore (ie 52L/8L x 100KM = 650KM)

650KM - 610KM = 40KM (where this remaining KM is missing?) hmm.gif

So i calculate here and there and come out with this;

610KM X 8L / 100KM = 48.8L (this is the full tank that ODOmeter can calculate)
so, to make calculation simple, we could take full tank as 49L (with 3L buffer in the tank)

This is more appropriate full tank value because when i repump the tank it only shows 44.3L. And there is few L petrol remaining in the tank (coz ODO shows 67KM before empty which can be assumed as 49L - 44.3L = 4.7L)

If my average FC is 8L/100KM then, 4.7L X 100KM / 8L = 58.75KM (more or less than KM before empty figure (on ODO shows 67KM, bear in mind that this is variable)

Since i did not drive until engine stalled, so the above figure can be assume as correct.
And please note that the fuel pumped until it stop by itself. I did not top-up the fuel after the pump stop.
And the remaining 3L space i believe is the buffer for fuel operating optimally.

if you rclxub.gif rclxub.gif by reading this, please eat panadol. hahahahahaha

p/s: the above fuel is BHP RON97. cool.gif

nice... less than 2 months after launch got v3 already  rclxms.gif
bro... brought discussion back in v2 huh? tongue.gif

smaller rim, better ride comfort lo... price of the tyres don't differ much... those 300 a piece one, probably whole set price difference around 100. but i don't see the need to change tyre + rim yet la... use till current tyre botak then only consider wanna change or not.

but the stock rim looks quite nice la... sayang to change...
*
yaya, actually i am asking this for future : when tyre botak. If the tyre cost not much diff, then i might choose to stay with 215/45.

in general, there will be still 5+l of petrol left in the tank when the alarm come on.........

and also when the pump stops, there will be space for another 3l of fuel, before it overflows..........

Its quite common for a GPS device to display a speed that is less than the speedometer speed. I have used a few GPS units before and the speed shown on the device is usually plus minus 10km/h less than the speed shown on my speedometer.

However, most people advices that the speed shown on the GPS should be trusted more than the speed shown on the car's speedometer.

"GPS is more accurate, speedos are set 5% to 10% high since manufacturers would get sued if they said people were doing the limit when they are in fact speeding. Speedo is effected by tyre wear and pressure, plus the mechanical/electronic accuracy."

"GPS will jump around though if poor reception, and will be confused by twisty roads or changing speeds. It needs to average out its reading."

"On straight highway at a stable speed the GPS will read almost perfect."

GPS, Car speedo, or roadside speed indicator. Which do I believe?

I saw a Black Forte with KIA emblem on the Highway towards Penang. First saw it at Tapah's rest station when I am collecting my car after the rest. Then saw it over taking me when around stretch near to Gua Tempurung... KCQ 1xx1.

A message to the driver, put more confidence into the car lah. The stretch after the Tunnel is a fun driving road heading North... I can see the driver worry on taking corners on that road and kept braking ( and I am followed from the back in a safe distance with another car in between ). The Forte shall able to take those corners at ease even at 120km/h. Let your Forte loose and release its full potential.

In case the driver is here.. I am the driver in the Silver City that followed you from the back.. admiring your car tongue.gif

have any forte SX owners 'downgraded' their stock standard 17" rims to 16" rims?

The SA I met said that if I wanted to do this I'll have to arrange for it myself and he's quite sure that I wouldn't be charged for it. Just checking whether that's the case cos I've heard so many comments saying the 17" rims do make for some bumpy and a little bit noisier ride - not to mention costly to replace.
