Hi, 2002 N16 reporting in. Have owned this car for past 8~9 years, no problem until last few months. This is what I have done to it, to restore it:
- Change to recond gearbox as my old gear box cant shift in cold, and slip on second gears consistently.
- Now looking to fix the jerking issue when idle, the rpm cant go pass above 3k when I hit the gas in Neutral.

I heard my brother (a mechanic) said its a air flow sensor or worse ECU problem. I am going to my trusted CW Auto in Subang USJ. Finger crossed.

i looking to buy used n16 1.8 xgl, year 2005++. planning to trade in with my sm4 manual year 1993. surf at mudah.my, this car value range 30k - 40k.

please advise...

1. maintanance n spare parts, easy or hard to find...? read somewhere that nissan spare part is very expensive.
2. fuel consumption...? someone said this car run very high fuel consumption. n some said it is because body weight. please advise...
3. other specialty about this n16 i shud know...?
4. engine use timing belt or chain..?

...n some guide for me to go used car, what shud i check importance things before decide to buy this car.

sory for lot of question. just want to buy a car that value for my money n the best i can afford.

1.parts are easy to find and get, both new and used,price for n16 parts quite affordable
2.depends on the car conditions, normally original 1.8 fuel consumption will be better (full tank 4++km depends on driving attitude)
3.what u wan to noe?

TS please take note, since now already 9yrs old and selling price 30-40k, once hit up 10 years old, the car price from 30-40k drop until 20k for between a year of usage only.

Please think be careful, if can then buy a newer at around 7 yrs, even used 2 yrs think to change car, the price still reasonable won't be drop until you can't accepted.

Cause same as my case last 2 mths sold out my sentra n16, 1.6L SGL at 10 yrs old for Rm16.5k only and bought 2 yrs ago at Rm39k.

Got sentra n16 centre console box? And driver side mirror? Thanks.

Is it still worth to buy second hand sentra now? My budget was only at about 25k...in the long run should i get just local car or sentra? Please advice.
