BEFORE START, BACK-UP YOUR DATA!

To install (at your risk! Plus void your 2-year warranty):
1) Install Hard SPL at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
2) Rename the file to "leoimg.nbh"
3) Copy it to SD card root directory
4) Shut down HD2.
5) Press-Hold "Volume Down" button + "Power On" Button THEN in 2 seconds release "Volume Down" Button.
5) Follow on-screen instruction.
6) Press reset button.

Tested on my unit having 1.66 Base ROM. No issue so far.

The CustomRRU method may not work SOMETIMES. That's why use SD Card method to be on the safe side.

Did you guys manage to get the 576MB RAM enabled with this new 2.08 Radio? Mine doesn't under 1.66 stock ROM.

@maesus, congrats on your achievement. If you got the time, I'm still waiting for a chef to produce All-Black ROM.

All-Black will consume much less battery juice. Currently, when we create new SMS, the background is WHITE. The keyboard also WHITE. The Sense Settings layout/details also WHITE. All this WHITISH background (even the "HTC - Quietly Brilliant" boot image) will drain the 1230mAh significantly. And this also what iPhone unit problem as well. All-white theme kills the iPhone battery so fast!

A good example will be Samsung Omnia II UI. "Almost" All-Black theme saves the battery (with the help of AMOLED screen too).

Therefore, @maesus, grant my wish....LOL...TOTAL-BLACK Custom ROM

Or... you can uninstall one-by-one all softwares to see which triggers the problem. But, in the end, hard reset is the "best" overall solution.

nevertheless not all channels are there. but better than nothing. plus sometimes you may not be able to connect to wunderRadio server.

go to Settings > wireless control > phone > band > activate WCDMA

just make sure you don't fry the HD2 motherboard.

Not FM radio. The radio that we are discussing is regarding ROM image radio. It's a component that is required when the unit receive GSM/WCDMA signal (and more the likes...). The direct benefits of applying new radio MAY include (but not limited to) better reception, better battery lifespan, better WCDMA connection, etc.

If you are new to radio/ROM flashing (aka upgrading), you should not take the risks. You may want to try to explore the theories first at XDA forum.

For the new 2.08 radio, did you notice greater signal reception and faster 3G connection? To my surprise, after applying the 2.08 radio, my device can still connect to GSM mode in the elevator, which previous radio(s) could not achieve.

its rare cases the motherboard fried due to prolong usage as modem. never heard on HD2 yet. unless you wanna break the record to be the first HD2 user fries the motherboard... LOL...

Mine WAS like that back when I got the phone. Now the colour is pure white. Maybe the ROM upgrade change it....?

I'm using LeoLite ROM. Battery friendly. Studying Kumar's ROM now.

'Spoon-fed' steps:
1) Install Registry Editor for HD2 (http://freewareppc.com/utilities/phmregistryeditor.shtml).
2) Install .NET 3.5 into HD2.
3) Reboot HD2.
4) Launch Registry Editor.
5) Find the following registry to enable .NET 3.5 and disable 2.0:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\.NETCompactFramework
6) Reboot HD2.
7) Install BSB Tweak.

Added on March 5, 2010, 5:35 amAll three models can do what you've mentioned (with 3rd party apps in some cases). If you need more functions, HD2 (WinMo) is the best. Milestone (Android) and N900 (Maemo) cannot install Garmin MXT (unless you prefer other GPS clients). HD2 CPU is 1GHz with big 4.3" screen suit your desire of watching videos/series. FYI, I primarily use HD2 with the same objectives as yours...lol...
