backup ur phone memory to memory card. hard reset ur phone and restore everyting except settings. done.

y after update..got 1 new task called "Installer" is running in background?

I noticed that my 5800 automatic send a message to 32424 upon completed the upgrade to V40, I do not know how much maxis going to charge me, have you seeing this?

yes we seeing this on EVERY firmware nokia release... it will be charge as sending a sms

lol something i dont feel nice... when i unlock the phone the vibration is too big... not like last time already... but i dont want to completely off it ><

guy i can update via FOTA is it normal?

use mykeylock... and use the api locking method and it wont vibrate at all

i'm almost done downloading fw upgrade...how u guys solve the instaler in use bug that i keep hearing without doing any form of reset?

actually what it means by api locking method? got this selection but i dunno how it functions.

I just updated to v40 and I saw there is missing 1 thing in my menu.
Wonder what it is...

wat is new in the v40 firmware

the function is same as the locking, but if u choose api lock it mean mykeylock will just send the api call for phone lock instead of simulate the physical lock slider (u can imagine it as when u left ur phone idle it will autolock without need u to slide on the lock key and of coz without vibration as well)

and u wont facing problem after the install without the reset all apps will keep intact... (but of coz ur previous setup must be good enuf lah)

my theory on this (hopefully lah) is:
maybe the battery indicator "non-linear" issue been resolve?? if it have been resolve maybe now what we seeing the battery drain is reflect exactly what the battery juice we left?? (previous firmware we confirm the battery indicator will drop if u ever restart the phone and will drain very fast after the initial 7 bar)

Already formatted memory card and then hard reset. Considered fresh v40.

are u sure or not??
open up contacts > then in the list use ur finger press 1 name (without releasing) drap it up/down then release.... u will see the list keep scrolling...
